Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Make_m11

"Don't do it, Fate!" a young man warned. He stood about 6'1'' with sandy blonde hair and angry grey eyes. He was only around 27, but he was made of muscle. He crossed his arms as the 21 year old red head spun around to looked at the man and she laughed.
"Oh, but Corzac, where's the fun in that?" the young woman said with another laugh before she climbed out the open window and scaled down the vines on the side of the house until she was on the groundly safely. She tilted her head back and looked up at the man who was leaning out, glaring down at her. Fate laughed before she turned and ran into the forest beside the mansion. Kicking at the leaves, she slowed to a halt with a laugh, she wondered how long it'd take before he hired bodyguard would get to her. No more then 2 minutes after that thought, Corzac's heavy footsteps could be heard and fate grinned before taking off again. A few moments later, a strong hand gripped her thin wrist and pulled her to an abrupt stop. "I said no, Fate. You cannot go to the village. You know how your father feels about that," the man growled. Fate just smiled and pulled her hand away from his grasp.
"And I said yes. I can go to the village, and you know I don't care what my father thinks about me going to the village," Fate said and then turned and walked off. Before she could make even 5 steps, the big man picked her up around the waist and slung her across his shoulder. Fate yelped in surprise and smacked the back of his head. "Corzac, I am a lady wearing a dress, put me down!" she said with a light growl.
Corzac just snorted and looked over his shoulder. "You may be wearing a dress, Fate, but I can't exactly call you a lady. More like a little girl," he said witha chuckle as she hit him again. Fate sighed and let him carry her back to the mansion in silence. He carried her back to her room, opened her door and then dropped her on her bed. "Stay here," Corzac ordered and Fate poked out her tongue at him. He grunted and then turned and left the room, leaving her on her bed.
Sighing, Fate laid back on her bed and stared at her ceiling as the sun went down.

Just hours later, Fate's worst nightmare happened.

The sound of shouting came her ears and her eyes snapped open from the nap which she must've fallen into. Sitting up quickly and fixing her plaited her quickly before she ran over to her door. She tried to open it, but Corzav stared at her through the opening and then pushed it shut harshly. "Stay in your room, Fate! And stay quiet!" he hissed at her. Fate stepped back, confused at the sound of men and women shouting and screaming and the heat of fire, with the coppery smell of blood.
"What's going on?"Fate whispered to herself before she ran to her window and threw it open. Climbing out, she scaled down the vines, her red dress catching on something. Tugging at it, she heard a nearby scream of a woman and she looked around before she saw a large man standing over a woman who worked in the mansion. Growling in frustration at her dress, she pulled it harshly and it ripped up to her knees and she scaled down and then landed on the ground before she raced over to them. The women screamed as the man raised his blade. She jumped up, grabbed the back part of the hilt and, whilst he was shocked, pulled it down and smacked it into his face.
The man stumbled back and fate looked at the woman. "Go!" she ordered and the woman needed no more encouraging as she scurried off. Fate glanced at the man to see he had a bloodied and broken nose. she grimaced and ran off, inside the mansion. She already knew that people were in there. She wanted to see her parents. Make sure they were alright. Racing inside, and up the stairs, past Corzac who started yelling at her to run.
Nearly falling over the stairs as she rushed past men and women alike. Once she finally got to the top, Fate shoved open the door to her parents' room. If only she hadn't. A man stood over both her mother and father, sword over each of their dead bodies. Fate stood there, stock still, unable to move. And in only a few moments, the men had noticed her as well. They advanced on her and she finally found her strength and stepped back. She shook her head, unable to believe it before she turned and ran down the stairs, the men following her. Corzac came into view. "Corzac! They killed them!" she screamed as he grabbed her wrist and dragged her down the stairs. "They killed them," she repeated in a whisper, tears blurring her vision.
"It's alright, Fate. You need to survive. Run, as far as you can," Corzac demanded, pulling her forward, ahead of him and letting go as he stopped and turned around to meet the pursuing men. Fate ran, as she was told, stumbling over herself. She glanced back, only to see Corzac fighting them off and then be pinned to the ground, sword pushed through his chest.
Fate ran, only to trip and fall down a hill.

Morning came soon enough and Fate shivered in fear as she huddled in a hollow tree. She stayed where was, taking in a sort, sharp breath as a group of shadows passed over her. She didn't raise her head from between her knees and a few moments later, someone grabbed her wrist and yanked her out. She stared up at the man in horror. He yanked her towards him, holding her chin firmly and staring down at her with a smirk. "I think i'll keep her," he said, letting go of her face and pushing her into some men who kept ahold of her. She foguht against them, but they growled at her to stop. She halted in her movements, terified for her life. these were the same men, weren't they?

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) LHman1
[[ Do you mind if I change it so his hair is jet black..? ]]

The skin around his mouth went taught with anger, his jaw rippling as he gritted his teeth together. The light green of the man's eyes trailed his brother's, the burly man paced to and fro, his shadow dancing across Connor's face and then disappearing rhythmically. A sigh laced itself from his lungs, and he ran a hand across his other, both were scarred and broken. He dared not look down to them, for fear of losing his will altogether. The mission suggested was a wild one. He was willing, more than willing, to join in. The thought of drawing his blade over the queen's throat, and drinking in the scent of the king's blood, was reason enough. However, Connor was not one to commit suicide. It was a ridiculous idea, one that five men could not accomplish alone.

"Do stop that, brother, you are making me uneasy." Connor told his brother, then lowered his gaze so he would not have to look at the older man. A tendril of black, almost blue, hair tumbled to cross his brow line and cheek bone. It was a strange relationship the boys held, but a relationship it was. No one would know the two were related unless told. Connor was small in stature, with lean muscles but muscles all the same. His brother, Kayle, was tall. He had a bulky frame and locks of golden hair. His eyes were a sharp blue, but were soft and welcoming. Something totally opposite to his demeanor. While Connor was quiet, solemn, almost completely introverted, his brother was bold. Kayle was a man of strength and not one of wit. If he desired something, it was his. Without a doubt. He never to the time to think things over.

"We're going" Kayle boomed, his strong voice sending a start through Connor. "Brother, please" Connor started, standing quickly. His tall, leather boots creaked quietly. He moved towards Kayle, but the man's hand sent him still. "No, Connor, we are going. I cannot pass up this chance" He said sternly. Connor's sharp features dipped to cast a shadow over his pale skin. His eyes never left Kayle's, however. "As you desire, I will inform the others" Connor said slowly. His voice was slow, melodic, intelligent. He turned and moved towards the others....

~%^%~

The knot within his abdomen had failed to untie itself all evening. Now, in the chill of night, the knot seemed of little more importance than a mosquito buzzing in his ear. His brother kneeled at his side, a sight not uncommon with the small group. There was little more in life that Connor loved than his brother. The thought of losing him made him shudder. "What is our first move, brother?" Kayle's voice was quiet, but still strong as he inquired. Connor despised the question. "Let the chaos take hold, and distract the guards..." He answered, his voice trailing mysteriously. As if on que, a wretched scream pierced the air like nails on a chalkboard. Kayle flinched, but Connor's lips split into a slight grin. It was expected, predicted. Connor had, in fact, planned for such a thing. "Now?" Kayle asked, shifted with impatience. "Hold, brother" Connor told him. His eyes locked on the building before them. He wasn't looking at it, however. He was staring past it, as though he could see directly into the square and watch as the woman's life was drawn from her body. A series of orders filled the air and Connor had to move his arm across Kayle's chest to keep him in place. A disgruntled look overpowered the gruff features of the restricted man, but he stayed hidden all the same. A deadly silence filled the air, and then like a cannon blast, total calamity gripped the town. "Now" Connor said under his breath, and Kayle shot up like a loaded spring, The others followed in his footsteps, leaving Connor behind. Rolling his eyes, the smaller, younger brother stood and took his sword in hand. They group was intended to sneak passed the fight and into the mansion. However, Kayle had taken it upon himself to murder almost everyone in his path. Connor simply sneaked passed. He was not one to fight, but one to cause the fight.

The air inside the mansion was stagnant, musky, and clouded. Connor walked in perfect stride with his larger brother, and they moved as though they had lived the extent of their lives within these walls. Their boots clicked against the stone of the stairs as the ascended. Connor's lips moved in the darkness, but he was silent. No one noticed, even the guards. Connor had sheathed them from view, something Kayle had expected him to do. What was Connor, a little puppy to be trained? Was this magic not good enough for his brother? The thought caused Connor's hand to clasp around his weapon tightly, and the other to ball itself into a fist. As they pushed open the doors of the king and queen's chamber, Connor let the spell go. "Thank you brother, this chance is a grand one" Connor said, his voice barely audible. However, the tone sent chills down his own spine. Without hesitation, he strode to the alarmed couples bedside. Kayle took the king's night clothes in hand, and wretched him from the plush bed. Connor's slender hand filtered through the queen's hair and pulled her head back. Her neck seemed ghostly pale in the moonlight, but soft and beautiful all the same. The narrowing of Connor's eyes was instinctual, and he firmly placed his blade to her throat. He watched as her throat glided, she swallowed. The motion glided under the sharp sword, and a crimson ribbon glided down her neck and into slid into the bodice of her night gown. The harsh scent of the blood tickled Connor's throat and nostrils. He turned his emerald eyes to his brother, to ensure this was still the plan. He only found a bloodied mess of a man, held in the strong hands of Kayle. Connor turned back as he drew his blade to the right, slicing deep into the woman's throat. He intentionally cut just deep enough to kill her, but not deep enough for it to be instant. Her eyes widened, and when he released her she drew both hands to the bloodied throat. Her chest heaved as she attempted a breath, but instead she choked on her own blood. Connor's eyes glinted in the moonlight, and he let his hands fall to his side. The slender man drank in the sight of the woman's distress. Suddenly, a glint of light shattered the scene, and pierced the dying woman's chest cavity. Connor lifted his lip into a snarl and his eyes turned to daggers when he turned to meet the killer. He noticed his brother, and his lips faded into a frown. Kayle's lips mirrored Connor's. Connor's eyes remained deadly as he turned away, and dropped his sword to the ground in the process. The others had left, finding themselves a kill of their own.

A crackle filled the air, and the door whined open. Connor whirled around, his left hand sticky and warm with the woman's blood. A younger, more beautiful girl stood in the doorway. He made no move towards her, but his eyes softened and he dropped his gaze to the floorboards. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Kayle as he launched himself after the woman. Connor exhaled thickly, then bounded after his brother..

~%^%~

Connor stood to the side and back of his brother, his pale skin shadowed by the trees. His emerald eyes watched as the girl was lifted harshly to a standing position by her jaw. Kayle had that look in his eyes, the greedy admiration of physical beauty. Connor winced, and his eyes flicked away from the scene. "I think I'll keep her" Kayle's deep voice rang out, and Connor listened as his men caught the falling girl. With that, Kayle turned to walk away. His destination was unknown, but Connor scrambled after him. This was him, the younger brother. The second in command. The one who walks in Kayle's shadow.

"Like a lost puppy, but one that saved his master's life several times over.." Connor's melodic voice was quiet, unable to be heard by Kayle but audible by the group of men holding the girl. He wasn't afraid of them hearing him, they were to ignorant to understand anyway. And the girl, well, Connor didn't care about her. Truly, he felt sorry for her. His brother was a ruthless one after all, but Connor wouldn't risk their relationship for some woman. He had seen this happen several times before, and the girl was not unlike the others. A scowl crossed his face, and Connor snuck a glance at the young redhead. She was gorgeous and innocent, much like the one Connor was accused of changing her hair color out of jealousy of his brother. With that, the scowl turned to a snarl, and Connor turned his attention back to his brother...

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Her heart raced. She could feel it; strong and fast in her chest as they forced her to walk alongside them. She had no idea where they were going, or what they were going to do with her. All she could do was go along with them. Either way, her life was over. It had no more meaning. She had no kingdom to take over, no friends, and even her childhood friend and bodyguard, Corzac was gone. There was nothing. Fate looked at the men holding her captive but they just glowered at her. Flinching at their gazes, she looked elsewhere. To the leader, who had supposedly claimed her as his. He was massive. Tall and basically just made of muscle. Dread washed over her at the thought of what he might want to do with her. Shaking her head slightly, she just knew that it was all over for her. There was no doubt about that.
Fate then heard a sweet, gentle voice and she looked over at the man. His long black hair and green eyes stood out amongst the rest of the disheveled men. She watched the man for a few long moments, trying to decipher the meaning of his words. Her dark eyes black in the shadows of the trees. He looked over at her and she held his gaze for a few moments before he seemed to recall something from his past. His scowl turned to a snarl and Fate couldn't help but jump at the sight and she looked away, bowing her head to stare at the ground and her now loose red hair fell over her face.
Did she do something wrong? Fate glanced around the group and sighed. She didn't care if ayone heard her. Sure, a princess shouldn't be heard sighing, but Fate had never been one to follow the rules quietly. Even in this situation, bad habits would die hard.
Within a few hours, they finally took a rest. Most of the men were exhausted, obviously because of what they did last night. The two which had been holding her forced her to sit on the ground. Fate resisted them, but their brute strength overpowered her stubborness. She tugged at the torn hem of her short dress. The material of the rest of her dress was probably still up on the side of the mansion. It just had to rip, but atleast with it just above her knees, it gave her more freedom of movement.
Fate looked at the two men sitting either side of her, who were there to make sure she didn't run. For now, she had decided to stay quiet and not do anythnig too bad. Then later on she could try to surprise them and escape.
Looking across from the rest of the group, Fate saw the leader staring at her with hungry, lustful eyes and she cringed at the sight. What did he want with her?

As they walked, both men with long strides, they appeared only vaguely similar.
They held themselves in a similar manner, though one was putting on a show. This was when they appeared most alike. Their behavior was the one way they seemed related. Connor had, after all, grown up mirroring his older brother. Something he enjoyed up until he was left in the shadows. Now he felt anger, though he didn't know who it was towards. Connor's emerald eyes deepened with emotion and he turned them down to his scarred hands. He wore a long, dark shirt that reached to the middle of his hands. A sigh expelled from the man, and Kayle turned to look down at his brother. Although he was but a few inches taller. Connor felt his gaze like a weight at his side, and Connor let his hands fall back down. "What is it?" Kayle's voice was quieter now, this way of speaking was exclusive to Connor's ears. This was the brother he knew and cherished, not the one who lusted for the woman they had captured. For a long while silence gripped the air, and the heavy footfall of Kayle's boots was the only sound. Then Connor's eyes looked to his brother without widening or turning his head. "It is nothing, brother" He said firmly, yet the silver tongued man spoke softly.
They traveled briskly, moving as though they were pursued by some unknown beast. The pace didn't bother Connor, though he felt that urgency within his soul and it made him slightly anxious. When they stopped, Connor was relieved and sat himself in the shade of yet another tree. It would be a while yet before they returned to their secret village. The thick, wide leaves of the oak he sat beneath cast shadows across Connor's pale face, deepening the line that had formed between his raven-colored brows. Why had the latest pillage bothered him? Connor turned his hands towards him, palm up. They rested in his lap, and were slightly bronzed by the woman's blood. He turned them over, admiring the odd way the blood had dried. It was a darker color now, not quite as beautiful and intriguing as it was when it was fresh. A sigh wrenched itself from the introverted being.
During the odd stillness between full afternoon and dusk, Connor had washed himself in the creek they had stopped by. The cool water stung against his shoulders and back, but he ignored the pain and promptly clothed before returning. He tugged at the fabric near his hands, and kept his eyes trained on his leather boots. Yet the silence didn't lift as it normally did, and dusk ebbed away with quiet footsteps. Normally, Kayle and his men would become raucous, fighting over the simplest of things, testing their strength just for the fun of it. However this night, everything was as if it had been slowed down, sending things into a warped soundlessness that ate at Connor's chest. This forced Connor's eyes up to ensure the presence of Kayle, but he found him there. He was seated on a fallen tree trunk, his elbows on his knees and his eyes trained on something in the distance. The man's younger brother followed his gaze, to find the flaming red hair of the girl from before. It was strange. Connor rarely found Kayle in such a way. Sure he had his way with women, and he enjoyed their company, but he rarely lusted for them. Typically, it was the other way around. To have his brother yearn for something he shouldn't take scratched and pulled at the very sinew of Connor. The girl's eyes flickered, and Connor turned his head promptly so she wouldn't catch his eyes on her. Something made him turn away from Kayle, and he moved to find something to satisfy his uneasy stomach.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Sun Aug 12, 2012 7:53 pm

Fate looked over at the gentler looking man of the group. She noticed him looking at her for a quick moment before he looked away. She cocked her head to the side, curiousity flickering through her. She glanced over at the leader then back at him. The way they had walked earlier; their movements, the way they held themselves. Identical. Could they be related? Surely not. They looked completely different, and the pair were completely different in body structure. Fate shook her head slightly and then stared at the ground.
They were definately the men that killed her parents and Corzac. And she would never forgive or forget that. One day, they would pay for what they had done to her life. To the precious people in her life. No matter what it took, they would pay. With those thoughts, hatred and the need for revenge started to bubble inside her. But she fought it down. She could wait. She was patient.

The silence was deafening. Weren't bandits supposed to be rowdy? Why was it so quiet? Something felt wrong. Especially as the sun set and the moon rose and everything still held an uneasy silence. It was at that moment she heard a movement and she looked up, to see the leader of the group standing up and moving towards her. Fate tensed and glared up at the burly man as he came closer to her.
He was the man who had killed her father. She would never forgive him for what he did. Never. She would make sure he died a horrible death, no matter what she had to do for it. The good thing was, however, was that Fate hardly looked anything like her parents, so they wouldn't know she was their daughter. Only the town down from her mansion knew about her, but even then, even if she had been there before, they didn't know it was her.
So these men wouldn't have a chance of knowing who she was.
The man stood over her and she looked up at him, ignoring the look in his eyes like he wanted nothing more then to ravage her right then and there. "What is your name, girl?" he barked at her. She said nothing, but then he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to her feet, staring down at her. "I said, what is your name?" he said again.
Fate stared up at him and then gave a light shake of her head and looked away. "Fate," she said shortly and then looked back at him, "my name is Fate," she replied.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:12 pm

Connor's lips brushed the cool of his glass as he tilted it towards him, letting it's contents trickle down his throat.
It was cool, yet tasteless. He had grown to enjoy the taste of this bland drink over the harsh bite of any ale. He sighed as he set the cup back down, his emerald eyes turning towards the array of cheese, bread, and berries. He was unsure about the small, round, blueberry-like items, for they had found and picked them right here. He sighed and brushed them aside before lifting the brittle bread to his lips and taking a bite of it. Surprisingly, it filled his stomach quite well and rested it's uneasy turmoil.
Kayle could stand it no longer. The beauty was but a few strides away and he was sitting there staring, like a sickly school boy. With a growl-like grunt, he stood and smoothed out the knees of his trousers. A few of his men turned their gazes up at him, but he didn't meet their stares. Instead, he walked firmly to the woman and demanded her name. She did not answer, and he was forced to grab her wrist and wrench her towards him. She was short, barely reaching the height of his broad shoulders. "I said, what is your name?" he hissed, his deep voice stilling the air around them. The others had taken advantage of their leader's distraction, and moved about for a small bit of time before a brawl broke out. Kayle heard the calamity, and it was like music to his ears. When she answered him he didn't catch the name, and he turned his eyes back to her. Kayle's brows dipped together, then she repeated and he nodded. He was at a loss of words, and failed to respond. Instead, his deep, yet pale, blue eyes narrowed before he released his grip. "Next time, answer-" he stopped, and froze. His brother's voice chimed around him. After years of it playing in his ears, he knew the melodic, almost enchanting ton very well. The sound caught him off guard, for Connor was typically very quiet and stuck to himself. Kayle turned his gaze around to the group that had gathered.
"Let go of me, you stinking brute!" Connor snarled, his voice still educated as he cried out. Something inside him longed for his brothers side, but Kayle was caught up with that woman. The thought made his features bunch up in a scowl, and stepped back from the drunk man as he stepped forward. "I had nothing to do with your misfortune, why would I trip a man like you? After all, you were destined to stumble to the ground yourself. All I had to do was wait and watch, and I got the entertainment. Brought upon you by your own self, I wasted no energy in the process," Connor said, his voice dancing about him and his words flowing smoothly. He let them fall from his lips as though he had practiced them for a long while. The brute grinned and moved even closer. With that, Connor raised his hand and held it a hand's width from his chest. "Now, I wouldn't do that if I were you..." his voice was warned, and he looked at the man sideways.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:30 pm

Fate watched the large man as he nodded and released her from his grasp. She let her hand drop to her side and she cocked her head to the side as he spoke and then stopped. She leaned to the side to look past the huge man to see the man who had been looking at her earlier. She watched what was going on and she became confused as to what had happened between the two. She glanced at the leader, to see that he was distracted with the other men.
Could this be her chance to escape? So early after being caught? Fate couldn't believe it. Surely, theyd notice and they'd catch her, wouldn't they? Then what would they do to her? At the moment, she was safe, but if she left, what would happen if they found her? Fate glanced at the commotion, then back at the leader who towered over her, and who only stood hardly even 10 centimetres from her. His attention was completely on the group, nothing on her anymore. Only moments ago, he had his complete attention on her, but now, nothing.
Not that Fate minded. No, not at all.
Glancing around to see if there was anyone else around them, but finding none, Fate decided to try and run, after finding some distance between her and the large man infront of her. She took a slow step backwards, and then another. One more. Fate yelped in surprise as she tripped over something, which sent her to the ground. She looked at the cause and saw it was a tree root. Damn, she really was terrible at this, wasn't she?
Fate noticed the short skirt of her dress had ridden angerously high up her pale thighs and she blinked in surprise before she sat up quickly and pulled the hem as far down her legs as she could. Which was still only just above her knees. Okay, forget about easy movement. Having a short skirt was a pain in the ass. Especially when she was with a group of bandits.
Afterall, they weren't known to be kind towards women.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:48 pm

A line formed between the sand-colored brows of Kayle's and he stepped away from the girl.
He moved towards the two that had began to argue, although his brother was clearly trying to get himself out of it. Connor had been accused of tripping the man, since he was known to be mischievous. However, he hadn't done so. He was tired of being blamed for everything. Although, it amused him that the man had thought he was so sly as to make him trip, even when he had fallen on his own. The hand he had lifted fell to his side, and the man took a step closer. "You scared, runt?" he snapped. The man was the same height of him, but much stronger and larger. Connor shook his head and smiled rapidly, it was a nervous veil he had placed over himself. The true Connor stood behind him, a knowing grin on his lips. He was invisible to the others, letting his illusion act as a scared child. "Actually..." he told his illusion, and he responded. It's tone was eerie and enchanting. The man who moved to punch the illusion froze, and dipped his bushy brows. The illusion disappeared, and Connor revealed himself. "Oh I'm sorry, you must have been drinking tonight.. I'm behind you, silly creature," he spoke in the man's ear, and ducked down as he whirled around to punch him once more.
"Enough!" A voice boomed, and everyone silenced. "Stop this, brother," he said. He was unsure about himself as well, he had seen the illusion and thought it the true Connor as well. He decided he would stop drinking as well. Connor stopped, and turned to his brother, shock on his features. Good, he saw the confusion in his features. They still didn't know about his secret. Connor hid his amusement and frowned. "I'm sorry brother, but the man had it coming" he said, and in the silence that followed, a yelp sounded. Kayle whirled around, and Connor rushed to his side. A grin played on the blond man's lips, his eyes on the high hem of her dress. Connor sneered and leaned towards his brother to speak his mind, but the girl's expression halted him. Slowly, the ebony-haired man moved to assist her in standing. He sensed her disdain and did not move closer, just stood as a sort of steady in case she was to fall once more. Connor listened to the signature sound of his brother's approach, and he slid back from the two like a snake escaping the farmer's sight. Kayle halted before the woman, and his eyes washed down her frame. This caused a look of disgust to form on Connor's features, but he quickly erased them and glanced at the group that formed behind the three.
"Where did you think you were going?" Kayle snarled, snatching the girl's arm as he had before and pulling her against his chest. She was lighter than he had expected, and she was easily tugged to his chest plate.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Sun Aug 12, 2012 9:09 pm

Fate looked up to see that they had all turned to focus their attention on her. She saw the leader's grin and she shifted uncomfortably. A few moments later, the black haired man help her to her feet, but stayed somewhat away from her. She gave a slight nod of thank to him and then looked at the bigger man as he approached the two. The other man stepped away silently. She looked over at him as the bigger man's gaze rolled over her. She looked up at the blonde haired man and took in a short, sharp breath of surprise as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him. She stumbled into his chest and she tried to step away but he held her there.
She looked up at him, thinking of what to say. She didn't want to anger him and get hurt. But what could she say? Either way, no matter what she said, she was going to anger him. She cocked her head to the side and sighed, "I tried to get away?" she said softly, looking up at him, uncertain. Well, either way, she was pretty screwed, so may say what she tried to do.
Yes, she realised she was probably dead. But what could she do? Fate did have a certain strength to her, but that wouldn't save her if he got really mad. She didn't have physical strength, but more of a mental strength. She wouldn't bow down to anyone, and never had. That was why she had always rebelled against her parents, cause they tried to make her do what they said.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Connor looked to the two anxiously, hoping for an answer from the girl.
The correct one did not come, and he winced at her choice of words. Kayle's lip tugged up in a snarl and he raised his free hand to strike her. Connor's eyes widened and he was at his brother's side instantly. The drunk men would not catch on to this bizarre speed, and he hoped the woman wouldn't either. Connor touched his brother's elbow and looked to his bearded face. His eyes turned, reflecting the moonlight slightly as he searched Kayle's face. He had never seen him behave so aggressively towards a woman he captured. "Brother," He whispered to him, his lips barely moving. "You wouldn't hit a woman as she, would you? She is innocent" he spoke, his tongue of silver gliding over the words like a melody. Kayle's demeanor softened as if his brother had put him in a trance, and he strained to listen to his voice. It wasn't deep like Kayle's, but it wasn't feminine. "But I-" he attempted, but knew he was wrong. Connor lowered his tense arm with just a touch, and Kayle loosened his grip on Fate's arm. "He is sorry, I promise you. You see, my brother has a terrible temper and he let is slip.." Connor told the woman, looking over at her without lifting his head. His lips pulled into a warm smile, though his features made it turn cold. Kayle's jaw tensed and he let both hands fall to his sides. "Now then, I think sleep would do us all a bit of good..." he told the two, and motioned for them to return to the campsite. The others lost interest once Connor stepped in, grumbling obscenities to themselves. Connor was anything but popular amongst the men, he was too different. He avoided physical conflict, and was regal. He had manners, something they all lacked. They didn't appreciate this strange man the way he longed for them too.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Sun Aug 12, 2012 9:36 pm

Fate flinched as the large man raised his hand to strike her. Fate's ears picked up on movement and she glanced over to the black haired man who suddenly appeared by the leader's side. She had noticed his speed, but she would not say anything, for fear that it may turn even worse for her. She looked at the pair, watching the two of them, listening as they spoke. So they were brothers. Fate listened to the black haired man and then looked at the blonde. She saw him resist his words, but it seemed he was unable to fight them.
Fate's thin brows furrowed together as she tried to piece together what had just happened. She wasn't stupid. Something had happened. Fate was eeriely perseptive for this that most didn't notice. Always had been.
The larger man finally gave in and she focused her attention onto the black haired man, studying him, trying to figure out what it was about him. Sure, he was the one who had killed his mother, but he still seemed different frm everyone. But even so, she'd have her revenge on him one day as well. If she didn't die beforehand, anyway. As he suggested to go back to the campsite, Fate gave a light shake of her head and kept her nearly black gaze on the shorter of the two, listening as the bigger walked off.
She felt a tug to walk to the campsite, but she fought it. She stood there for minutes, just watching the smaller man, before she shook her head with a sigh and walked back and sat down, away from the others, though hungry, drunk eyes followed her. Atleast, if she made the leader hate her, she'd be killed or let go. Maybe if she just made him angry at her just enough to not do anything with her.

Alowly, the men fell asleep one by one and Fate watched them succumb to the need to sleep. She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her thighs and putting her head in her hands, looking away. "I just want to go home," she whispered to herself, "I just want to go back," she repeated softly. She didn't know or care if anyone heard her. She wanted to see her parents again, see Corzac. Everyone.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Sun Aug 12, 2012 9:48 pm

Connor felt the girl's scrutiny, and it made him want to squirm.
However, he held fast and remained firm. So she had noticed, but she was gracious enough not to mention it. He would have to dispose of her, after all, if she did. He did not take well to those who soiled his plans. His brother walked back, but Connor remained until she, too, returned to the group. He sighed thickly as he watch them go, then turned and looked behind them. It was the way they had come. A deep centering breath moved through the young man, and he let his eyes close softly. In a hazed vision he saw the village, bruised and at its worst. The mansion had been set fire to as those who despised the rule of the king and queen took things into their own hands. Other buildings smoldered, and he could see the defeat in the eyes of the survivors. Somehow, the image pleased him, and a smile played on Connor's lips. He froze, and pulled himself back to the campsite at the sign of emotion. He lifted his fingers to trace his forehead, suddenly confused and misguided. He wasn't sure what had come over him, why he had even looked back. When Connor turned, most of the men had fallen asleep, as Kayle had. With a hesitant look, he stepped towards them and found himself a seat in a fairly secluded area. As he rested his eyes, not able to fall asleep as the others had, he listened to the girl. It had been a long while since he let himself sleep, but the desire to had faded long ago. He rarely looked like he didn't sleep, though, he used his magic to shield it. Her words were soft spoken yet strong, playing his heart like a harp. He didn't know why, but he felt for the girl. Not before, he hadn't. In fact, he would rather have murdered her himself for sneaking in on them like that. And his brother, interfering with the woman's death, and angered him anyway. But now, as he sat there listening to her innocent voice, he felt sorry for Fate - something he rarely did, and something he despised. Without turning himself, Connor's eyelids turn back to reveal his emerald eyes. He watched her as she bent over herself, resting her head in her palms. Then, he realized what he wanted and everything fell into place. He knew why he was confused before, and he was no longer in that haze. He wanted the girl to stumble upon the murder, and he wanted things as they were now. A mischievous grin lifted on his thing lips, and the man was relieved to understand himself.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Sun Aug 12, 2012 10:09 pm

Fate sighed and leaned back, crossing her arms across her chest as she stared past the canopy and into the dark, black sky. What would she do once she finally had her revenge? Sure, it was said a life led by the need for revenge led to a quick death, but she didn't care. She had no reason to live now. Everything was gone. Nothing was left. She was the sole survivor of her family and the only thing which could prove it, was the small burn on the inner side, high up her left thigh. The emblem of her family. A small star, with two swords pierced through it in the shape of an X.
There was no way she would let any of them see it. She couldn't. But it was good, as it was that small, that many missed it even if they did look, unless they were specifically looking for it. Sighing, Fate looked over at the leader, who was sleeping and she gave a light shake of her head. THis was just stupid. Why did she have to stay with them?
Okay, so she already knew it was because she had to, but that didn't mean Fate had like the idea at all.
Giving a sideways glance, Fate saw the smaller man from earlier was still awake. She watched him for a few long moments before she looked away completely. She closed her eyes and she slowly drifted into an uneasy sleep.

She had been wracked with nightmares of the savage brutality of her family and friends. She woke with a start, covered in a thin viel of sweat, before the sun had risen and before anyone else had woken up. She glanced over at the black haired man, to see him awake. She sighed and stood up, brushing herself off before she walked over to a thin river, where she splashed her face with water. She stared into her rippling reflectiona dn groaned, before she sat down next to the river. Her skirt rode up slightly and she mindlessly tugged at it, pulling it down, not that it did too much. She stared at her feet, just noticing that she was barefoot. Either she had lost them last night or hadn't pur any on before she scaled down the side of her place.
Slowly, the sun rose and Fate didn't move until everyone started stirring. She pushed herself to her feet and brushed herself off before slowly walking back.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Sun Aug 12, 2012 10:21 pm

Connor found the girl's hair captivating.
She had that uniquely shaped face, showing she was from that village. However, her hair sent him in a whirl. It was the most magnificent auburn. Unlike most red heads, her hair color was obvious all the time. No matter what lighting or angle. He didn't recall seeing anyone else in the village with such a bright red mane. He heard her breathing increase, and slowed his. He closed his emerald eyes and listened as she stood and turned to go. He opened his eyes then, watching her direction. Connor willed himself not to follow. She wouldn't be gone long, and if she left it was for the best. However, he couldn't dismiss the curiosity within him. He straightened himself and adjusted his trousers before standing. On silent feet the man with obsidian colored hair followed the woman's trail. He saw her, then, crouched over the creek.
Her head was bowed, and he saw her tug at her ripped dress. She was uncomfortable wearing it, obviously. He took note on the fact that he was not yet noticed, but sheathed himself anyway. Connor stepped slowly to her side and let his eyes take in the silky red of her hair. He frowned, and found no solace in just looking. So as not to scare her, he stepped back, purposely making a slight rustle and revealing himself. Connor stepped towards her then, and lifted a strand of her hair gently. It was soft, well kept, and even without stooping near he could smell the soap on it. He ran his thumb across the strands before releasing it and canting his head to the side. His emerald eyes searched her face for any sign of emotion. "Your hair... It intrigues me. I can't say I've seen anything quite like it" He said. Connor hadn't meant it as a compliment, but not as an insult either. He just wanted her to know he wasn't being too strange, that he was truly curious. Connor's gaze split from her gorgeous hair to meet her eyes, which were unique as well. They were a dark brown, but he could see a hint of red in them. They contrasted wildly with her fair skin.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Fate was caught off guard by the sound behind her and she jumped slightly and looked back to see the black haired man. He moved towards her adn she watched him, curiousity flooding her entire body. Then he picked up a strand of hair and Fate stared at him in confusion. Once he let go, her eyes flicked from his hand to his eyes as he finally spoke. She watched him for a few moments, tugging at the hem of her dress once more. "Well, I can honestly say, that's the first time i've heard that before," she said lightly as he studied her eyes.
Other then his green eyes, Fate couldn't say that there was anything unusual about him. Other then his unnatural speed and the way he manipulated his brother. She stared at him before looking away. "May I ask what your name is?" she asked slowly, cautiously. She didn't know anyone's name and it made her feel awkward that everyone knew hers. Then again, he had no obligation to tell her. She was, afterall, a hostage, so to speak.
She stared at the running water, watching as it rushed over the rocks. She looked past the man to see that most people were awake now. Including the leader who was watching them. She looked at the burly man for a only mere seconds before she looked away, not wanting to hold his gaze for too long, afraid of what she might see. Shaking her head slightly, Fate looked back at the black haired man to see whether he would answer or not.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Sun Aug 12, 2012 10:49 pm

Connor grinned softly at her response, and his eyes moved to her hair again.
It was like a fountain of flames, yet more mysterious and beautiful. He could see that she was probably more dangerous as well. Not in herself, but in what she meant to his brother. He turned to see her look back at something, and he felt his brother's gaze burning into his back. A frown split the soft-spoken man's features and he lowered his gaze. Her question baffled him, and he wasn't sure if he was to answer or not. Connor finally looked back to meet her gaze, but his eyes seemed darker this time, and almost held a reddish/purple tint to them. "Connor" he said softly, and reached back to run a hand through his thick, black hair. A strand slipped out to dash across his jawline.
The man at his back cleared his throat, and Connor turned in response. He twisted his right hand at his side, and snapped his fingers together quietly, careful to hide it from his brother's view. "Yes, brother?" He called up to him, moving up the hill to greet his brother.
In his wake, he left Fate's dress a few inches longer, with a beautiful, intricate design woven from what looked like strands of gold. They were turned into knots that seemed of Celtic origin.
Connor cast a glance back at his work to ensure it had turned out as he had intended, then his emerald eyes looked to his brother. Kayle's thick arm wrapped itself around his brother's small shoulders and they walked together back towards the group.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Sun Aug 12, 2012 11:50 pm

Fate watched the man as he looked away, seeming to think about something. When he finally looked back, she couldn't help but see the change in his eyes and she leaned back ever so slightly. He replied and a small smile tweaked her lips at the sound of his name. But before she could say anything, the leader of the group cleared his throat from the tope of the small hill. Connor turned and she noticed him click his fingers together. She cocked her head to the side, confused and watched as he left. He glanced bck at her a few moments later and she stared at him, unsure of what he was looking at.
The leader of the group slung his arm around Connor's shoulders and led him back to the group. Fate sighed softly and looked back down at the river. Then she noticed it. Her dress now reached an inch below her knees, and gold designs patterned the red material. She stared at it for a few long moments in confused surprise before her head snapped up and she stared at Connor.
Fate stood up, now more comfortable in her dress and she brushed herself off. Glancing back down at the designs before giving a quick smile and then walking back to the group. A few of the men stared at her in confusion to her dress, however, it still didn't stop some of their savage and hungry looks. Fate shook her head softly and decided to ignore them.
She gave a soft yawn and stretched her hands high sbove her head and looked over at Connor. When he finally looked over at her, she gave a soft nod of thanks and then turned away and walked off to linger at the back of the group. Even if she was away from them, she wouldn't get away, as some were still watching. And even so, she knew Connor's speed. She had definately seen it and hadn't imagined it.
Fate gave a soft sigh as she noticed that she was kind of hungry. She never had much of an appitite, but the last time she had eaten was now 2 days ago. She had had an arguement with her father and had decided not to eat anything. Unfortunately, now, it wasn't a very good idea. But she knew she would be fine until they settled for camp again.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Mon Aug 13, 2012 5:35 pm

Connor's eyes glinted slightly and his features softened, but he didn't smile.
He shook his head and turned his gaze from the gallant man at his side. He seemed to be glowing, and for some reason, it bothered Connor. And then, the fact that his happiness bothered him, bothered him even more. It was like an endless loop, raking it's gnarled hands through his midnight hair and pulling at his pale skin. The man's throat pulsed as he swallowed, then swallowed again. The uneasiness had regained it's grip in his abdomen, and Connor brought his arm to his stomach in response. Kayle, being the man that he was, hadn't noticed. He continued blubbering about whatever nonsense had made him so giddy.
They walked for a long while, trusting the others to watch after Fate. A chill spun and danced down his back, and Connor's sharp emerald eyes flicked to the side. He watched in envy as the free, powerful, flowing waters of the creek hammered on. They persevered, unbroken and determined, yet regal and beautiful. He sat, and rested his elbow along a low hanging branch. His index and middle finger draped across his lips, and his eyes stared on absently. Suddenly, as though reminded of something, Connor's eyes fluttered to his mangled hands, and he ran his forefinger across his open palm. There were scars there, but none compared to the ones along his back and shoulders. A wince sliced through the man's soft, handsome features.
A trail of silence followed, and after a short while, Kayle's residing footsteps could be heard. A thunder-like pounding erupted inside Connor, and he pulled his hands to his chest. He felt his heart race with the thought of what he wanted to see. "Kayle.. Wait..." he started, his emerald eyes narrowing as he stared to the ground, then turned up to his brother. He had all of his attention. All the seriousness and pain within Connor's voice had struck the man, and now his older brother stood limply, gazing down at Connor. Pain wrenched through Connor and he turned his eyes down. Ever since his incident with Lady Sif's hair that deep ebony color, he had been banned from his powers. The spell had been a weak one, and caused Connor incredible discomfort. It held him for a long while, and only recently worn down like the knees of an old pair of jeans. A fortnight ago, those final tendrils had snapped, and his barrier was broken. Connor's stomach lurched, and he felt sick all of a sudden. Worry gnawed at him, and he hoped his brother would not think he had forced the spell away. After all, everyone knew him to be sneaky and intelligent, and they thought he was truly dark and unpredictable. Again, that pang of hurt ground into his heart of stone.
Kayle stepped once, twice, closer to his brother. Noticing the steady rhythm in Connor's hands as he rubbed them, he recognized that it had to do with some sort of devious intention, or accident. Maybe both? Or could it just be that the nerves racking through him had brought the habit back to life?
"Brother... Please hear me out on this.." Kayle listened to the seriousness of his brother's tone, and his ears strained to hear the man. Suddenly, a loud roar could be heard from behind them, and laughter followed. It silenced quickly, and rushed footfalls fell behind them. Kayle watched Connor's emerald eyes flicker upwards, and he turned around to see his best friend. His face was pale, slightly blotched, clearly filled with both fear and a hazy confusion. "What is it?" Kayle roared, and stood abruptly to follow. They left in a rush, leaving Connor behind.
Anger flurried throughout the man, and a line formed between his obsidian brows. He shifted to rest his elbows on his thighs, and let his head bow slightly into his palms. They were ice cold, yet soft. A shaky breath hissed through his lips, yet Connor remained. Nothing back at the camp interested him at the moment, so he made no move towards them. Connor leaned back once he had regathered himself, and stared down at his palms. The thumb of his left hand glided over the back of his left, and he watched the motion intently. He then turned his left palm up towards him, and clapped his right down onto it. A crackle issued, and a deep green, gold, and silver ball of what only could be described as energy itself, conjured upon his hand. It pulsed, shuttered, and spun. The colored globe danced up and down as it levitated in the air, but never left his control. Connor's lips pursed tightly, turning their deep fleshy color nearly stark white. A single words whispered through his ears, but it was only an implication at the moment.
Revenge....
He shook his head, but the energy ball persisted. It moved more dangerously now, as though it was a cat, poised to pounce. It shuttered, and the words played in his mind once more.
His stomach tightened.
His heart turned to lead.
And suddenly, no sly remark about anything came to mind.
Something shifted within him, he felt it, and it felt good.
Like a guilty comfort, one that only comes from indulging oneself in something that wasn't right, at all..

[[ I'm sorry, I hope I left you room to reply... I just don't know what to do with Kayle's character and didn't feel up to describing his actions any further... Embarassed ]]

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Mon Aug 13, 2012 6:35 pm

Fate stayed around the back, watching the men talk amongst themselves, some casting glances at her from time to time. Sighing, she looked away from them and sat down, trying to think of something to do. She glanced up for a moment, watching as Connor and his brother disappeared towards the river. The wind blew through the trees gently, playing with her auburn hair. She grabbed a strand and played with it for a moment, looking at it. How could it intrigue someone? She didn't think it was all that different. Okay, so that was a lie. She knew that her hair was completely different compared to most.
Shaking her head slightly, Fate froze when she heard some men yelling at eachother. She looked up and watched as two men growled and snarled at eachother like wolves fighting over dominance. A few moments later, one man threw a punch. She watched as they grappled with eachother, and within only a few minutes, one man was on the ground, the other ontop of him, smacking his head in. Fate shook her head and looked away at the sight of blood from his nose, and thoughts of Connor and his brother standing over his parents and killing Corzac came to mind.
She groaned and stood up and brushed off. She watched as one man scurried off towards where Connor and his brother had gone. She made her way towards the two and shoved the one smacking the other's face in, off of him. The man growled at her and scrambled to his feet, blinded by rage as to who she was. He swung a punch and Fate skipped back, out of reach. He lunged towards her, leaping through the air and she ducked low and he went straight over top of her. She stood up and spun aroound, an antagonising smile on her face. The man bounded to his feet and tried to grab her, but she stepped back, out of reach.
Fate had been trained to get out of trouble. And with her short and petite frame, she was able to get away from most punches thrown her way. Obviously, the leader and Connor were another story. Connor was too fast and the leader had brute strengh which terrified her. She didn't even want to think of how much she may anger him if she kept getting away from him.
A few moments later, she could hear the leader's booming voice and she skirted around the edges of the group as they froze and she watched as he went over to them. She looked through the trees and saw Connor. She cocked her head to the side and was tempted to go over, but before she did, she saw the ball of what seemed to be energy hovering over his hand. She watched in amazement and glanced over at the leader and the other two. The one who had also attacked her, accusing her of butting in. What was she supposed to do? Let him kill the man?
Well, that didn't seem too bad, but the sight of that much blood had made her think of bad things.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Saviour Mon Aug 13, 2012 7:40 pm

Connor's hand balled into a fist, and it flashed white from the strength of his grip.
A tear sliced his appearance, and he pawed it away rapidly. His brother boomed, and Connor stood instantly to move to his side.
"What is going on?" Kayle roared, a snarl on his face. His rugged yet warm appearance sending chills into the men. The bloodied, broken man eased his body off the ground, and Kayle winced down at him. The man who had bashed his face in, Flynn, growled his excuses, and a single look form Kayle's piercing blue eyes and he halted. "I don't care, she is not to be touched." Kayle spoke slowly, but it was full of power. His jaw pulsed, and Flynn took a step back. "Now go, I will deal with... you... Later," he snapped, throwing his hands in frustration. A curt nod later, and Flynn stepped away. The soft voice in his ear made Kayle jump, and his muscles all tensed at once. He whirled to defend himself, but halted at his brother's firm expression. Something lied there, something strange. He shook his head, and stretched back to find what he had said.
He is injured, brother, what shall I do?
That was what he had said, but the words didn't clarify anything. "W-what? Are you crazy?" He growled, and the tone shocked Connor to the bone. He flinched, and his brows bounded down. They straightened as the group's eyes turned to the brothers, and he forced a small chuckle. "Brother, you have had too much ale to-" He started, but Kayle's hand shoved his shoulder hard. Shock and anger, as well as a gut wrenching pain, shot through Connor, and his features turned into a snarl. "What?" He growled, and he straightened himself. He stood slightly shorter than his brother, but he stepped up to him all the same. "Is it my fault? Honestly, tell me!" He hissed through clenched teeth. Kayle's gaze fluttered about him, he didn't want this conflict, he was confused and mangled. "Brother please" He started, and Connor turned away from him. "No, brother, for you have made up your mind already.." He said almost inaudibly, and he forced back the tears that glossed his eyes. Dipping his head, Connor kneeled beside the bloodied man, and he saw him flinch back from his touch. "Stop, fool" he snapped, and grabbed the man's armor tightly. He shoved him hard to the ground out of anger, and he knew it hurt. He didn't seem to care, though.
Then he froze.
His body went tense, and the man's muscles danced beneath his thin shirt.
Connor screwed his eyes shut and stood, his chest falling as he exhaled deeply.
And with that, Connor turned away from the injured man. He didn't deserve the healing, and Connor was exhausted and confused. He would do him no good. Kayle's worried gaze trailed after Connor, but the ebony haired man continued. His emerald eyes lifted to see the girl as he passed her, but it brought on an unusual sense of sorrow all its own. He choked as he passed her, and finally let loose the tears. They chilled his skin, tinting it blue. The tears fell silently, and he veiled his form from view until he knew he was far enough to show himself once more.
Kayle frowned deeply and turned away from them, the opposite way that Connor had gone. He gripped a table firmly in his hands, and threw it up. The contents of its surface shattered together and clashed with the ground. "Help him, you idiots! stop staring like damned fools!" He snarled, then flashed a look back at Fate. His eyes were fierce like a lions, as was the snarl on his face. He gritted his teeth, and turned back around. The burly man clasped his forehead in his hand, and his jaw trembled with the sobs he tried to hold back.
Connor sat by himself beside the creek he had found Fate at just an hour earlier. He choked out a breath, and stifled the sounds from then on. He gathered himself, and reached down to touch the ice cold river. His fingertips pulsed with the magic of his blood, and they glowed swirls of blue, gold, in tendrils that climbed his forearm. He wrenched it back and hid it, suddenly longing for Fate to come find him. He didn't know why, but he felt like she was the only one capable of understanding. After all, she didn't know of him or his past, besides him murdering her parents.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Fate watched the brothers and cocked her head to side, staying silent. She took a hesitant step towards them and then Connor snapped and she froze. Her body going rigid as she watched as he growled at his brother. A moment later, he knelt beside the man and then abruptly stood up. Why? What was wrong with him?
He looked over at her and then walked straight past her. She looked back at him and saw how his body shook and she knew he was crying. But why? What could he have to cry over? Fate turned back to the group as she heard the leader's voice and she flinched as he looked over at her. His gaze seeming to pierce through her. Once he turned back to the table, Fate watched as his body shook his untold sobs.
Fate glanced back at where Connor had vanished to adn she sighed before she turned and followed the ever so faint footsteps in the ground. Not many would notice them, but Fate was perseptive of small things. A perfect tracker one day. She soon found him by the river where they had previously conversed. She watched him for a few moments, as he touched the water, the changing colour of his fingers and as he wrenched it back to his chest.
Fate took a few steps towards him, surprisingly quiet. But that was only because of how small she really was. She came up behind him, but to the side, so he was able to see her through the corner of his eyes. She moved to stand beside him and looked down at him. "You alright?" she asked him softly, crouching down beside him and looking at the patterened ends of her dress.
She ran her fingers over the gold patterns lightly and studied them before she looked over at him, cocking her head to the side slightly as she watched him with her dark eyes. "Oh, uh, you don't have to tell me, if you don't want to," she said, glancing awaya nd looking down the river.
She had no idea why she was being so nice to him. It's not like he had really done anything for her to make her be nice to him, afterall.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

[[ No problem =D ]]

A shiver racked itself across his skin, her warm breath against his shoulder even as she stood quite a distance back. When she crouched, he looked over at her, then away. His eyes still glass but not streaking tears anymore. He gathered himself, only then trusting his voice. "I'm fine." He said sharply, though he meant no bitterness towards her. Connor pulled his arms around his torso tightly, and stared into the shimmering surface of the creek. It peaked and fell into canyons, slid around rocks and plunged down its staircase. Nothing seemed to faze the water, its determination was intoxicating. A sigh pulled from Connor's chest and he turned his hearing back to Fate. He glanced over at her without turning his head, and a slice of ebony hair blocked his view. The man's hand slid up to brush it aside, and he then turned to her. "I'm sorry" He told her, clearing his throat and standing suddenly. His muscles felt like water, though, and he struggled to appear stable on his feet.
When he balanced himself, Connor let his hands fall to his sides. Only to draw them together once more, this time behind his back. He stoked the inside of his left palm methodically, as though it was a comfort to him. In reality, he barely felt the icy touch of his own skin against itself. "My brother and I... We have our obvious flaws and they.. Unfortunately... Decided to show tonight.." his voice trailed, and he noticed he did not remember the exact moment she came over. He snapped his hand forward and winced, "How long have you been there?" his voice was softer now, and he almost seemed innocent at that time. The man's left hand clasped his right forearm before his breastplate, and he watched Fate with intent eyes.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Fate flinched at Connor's harsh tone of voice, but she gave a light shake of her head and decided not to think of it too much. When he stood up all of a sudden, Fate stayed in her crouched position and looked up at him for a long while before she slowly pushed herself to a standing position. She looked over at him, studying the man for a bit before he spoke. She moved her gaze to look past the river and into the trees on the other side. When he spoke of him and his brother, Fate just gave a light shake of her head, "Everyone has their own faults, Connor. Honestly, I have more then I care to count. However, without them, we wouldn't be who we are," she said with a slight, comforting smile.
A minute or so later, Connor's head snapped up and she looked at him, blinking in surprise. At his words, Fate ran a slender hand through her auburn hair and she looked down the river for a moment or so. "Um, a few minutes or so, why?" she asked, returning her dark gaze back onto the man. She couldn't comprehend why he'd care how long she'd been there for. And someone with Connor's skill definately would'v heard her right?
Unfortunately, Fate didn't seem realise her unique abilities, so she didn't quite understand how Connor hadn't heard her.
She cocked her head to the side and watched the man for a moment before sighing and looking across the river. The questions lingered on her tongue as to why he and the group of bandits had murdered her family and the town. However, she didn't ask, for fear of what he might say or do.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Connor's eyes cleared as she continued to speak, although it wasn't her words that comforted him.
He shook his head slightly, and swallowed hard. The ebony hair that was so black it almost looked blue streaked his face. His tender skin wasn't pale anymore, but more clearly described as ashen. The knot in his stomach gently untwisted, but left a whole there that he couldn't quite understand. He let out a breath, it shook, but cleared his mind and, for the moment, relaxed his shaking hands. With the newly found control, he wrenched his hands together to try to ease the icy knives within them.
She listened to him intently, in a way he had never experienced. Her bright, intelligent eyes clear and sharp as she collected his every word. This tightened his heart, but he didn't show it. The wave of uncertainty had cleared, leaving Connor's sharp angled features emotionless. They didn't seem cold, though. His eyes, with their nearly unearthly shine, were soft and open. They were the only thing that showed how he truly took her words and thoughts into consideration.
The next second, her words struck him like a spear. Few minutes.. Not long, but long enough. Just enough time for her to have seen him touch the icy water and his arm glow. However, he wasn't disturbed by this fact. Not in the least bit, no, he was worried about her ability. How had she hung there, behind him, without his knowing? Had she veiled herself, had he found one of his own? A shiver racked down the slender man's spine, but he forced the energy into his hands. They clamped tight into fists and he let them fall to his sides.
Silence stung the air, his hesitation flickering across his eyes and slightly parted lips.
"A.... Few minutes?" He managed to say through the clouded rush of questions. They strung together like a whirlpool, sucking down his ability to think. His eyes turned down to his feet and he canted his head away from her, his eyes screwing shut but his ears open towards her. He focused hard, and found her there with his other senses. So he could sense her now, but not before? She could control it, with or without her knowing.
He turned back, his face clear once more. She must think he was nuts to have changed his expression so many times over. What did he care? Fate's thoughts shouldn't even stir his intentions or decisions. That sent his jaw rippling as it tensed, but he made no other sign of distress. "I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well.." his eyes fluttered back to meet her deep red/brown, doe-like eyes.

Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ ) Empty Re: Terrified To Die [R] (~-Making Mirrors-~ )

Post by Tayssi Wed Aug 15, 2012 11:52 pm

Fate looked back at Connor a moment later and watched the emotions which rolled on and off his handsome face. Her brow furrowed slightly as she tried to work out what he was thinking, however, obviously, she couldn't figure it out. Which kind of frustrated the young woman. She had alwasy been like that; getting frustrated or upset over something if she couldn't figure it out. She didn't know why, but it just did. Lately, it was mainly around Connor. He had an air of mystery, and powers which she couldn't wrap her mind around, but somehow found rather comforting. It was a weird thought, but one she had nonetheless.
Connor seemed to bottle himself in. He seemed quiet and withdrawn, but to Fate, it seemed he felt he had to be like that. That he wasn't really all that quiet, nor that he wanted to stay in the background for much longer.
Fate's thoughts lingered over Connor until he spoke, repeating her words. Which snapped her from her wandering mind. She watched the man, though did not answer. Simply watched as he squeezed his eyes shut and concentrated on something. On what, Fate had no idea. She ran a hand through her hair and glanced down at her dress for a short moment before she felt him open his eyes. She couldn't explain it. Just knew. She looked up at the man and about 7 seconds later, he apologised.
Fate gave a light shake of her head and shrugged. "It's nothing to apologise about. You can't help it if you're unwell," she said. The wind blew, blowing her auburn hair over her face. She blinked in surprise and once it died down, she moved it back again, however a single strand fell over an eye. When he looked down at her, Fate gave a weak smile.
"Oh yeah, thanks... About the dress, I mean. I really appreciate it," Fate said, glancing down at the dress for a moment again before looking back up and meeting his emerald coloured eyes. They kind of trapped her in an oasis of green. They were gorgeous and at that moment, Fate just wanted to get lost in the gentle colour of his eyes.
Blinking in surprise before shaking her thoughts away, Fate moved her hands infront of her, crossing her hands over slightly and just letting them rest there. It was times like this that her training to become a proper lady showed through. As a child etiquette, manners and the way to acgt around certain people had been drilled into her. However, once she had reached the age of 18, she started to rebell. She had never wanted the life of the rich. It was too suffocating for her.
But that didn't mean she had ever wanted for parents, or Corzac dead.
