The ground is frozen, covered in a thick layer of snow that obscures the slippery layer of rock hard ice that waits to catch the death of a creature. Trees bend in the direction the wind constantly blows, caked with snow and dirt, yet majestic in their own way. Tiny snow flakes flutter endlessly from the cloud filled sky, landing on nothing in particular, yet knowing exactly how to completely cover an object within seconds. This place is not safe, not a place for a creature without sure footedness or brains. Not a place for a creature without a winter coat or one well adapt to snow and freezing temperatures. Most likely the reason very few living things exists in such a desolate atmosphere.

In the distance the sound of pounding hooves echo, their thumping clops sounding off the surrounding canyon walls. The ice walls tremble and vibrate, releasing showers of icy pebbles and thick snowy lumps onto the beaten path below. The sound of a triumphant whinny dance along the same walls and up into the air to drift on the howling wind. The whinny was followed by the sound of beating wings and metal on ice as the two made contact. Against the darkened sky, the figure of a massive mare arose from between the trench, her two extremely large see-through like wings lifting her up into the air.

She was a beautiful creature, gifted with the body of an arabian and touched by an angel and given wings. Her pelt resembled a night sky, the color of midnight with tiny sparkling star strewn across it. Her flowing tail and mane burned a lavender purple color and her violent eyes gleamed with determination. Around her neck hung a diamond and silver pendant that she was given as a gift from the God of the Sky. This mare was called Andromeda and she was the Princess of the Starlight herd. Now on her own, she planed to fight who ever she had to to become the first female leader.
