A Mysterious Soul. [T] [OPEN]

Sergeant was coiled like a cobra, ready to spring with a lethal speed that could rival and serpent, the lean ropes of muscles contracting as he moved, bulging and rippling beneath his ragged slate fur. Pallid, winter-blue orbs didn't once leave from his brother's shark-like, circling silhouette, gaze trained on his sibling as they scored a circle into the fresh dirt. Mud and dirt had already begun to plaster his legs, dying them a claggy brown, covering up any scars that were worn as trophies. His muscles screamed at the abuse as he darted sideways, an inch too slow to avoid his Ryder's gaping, blood-thirsty jaws. He struck out, twisting and raving and wrenching like a feline to try and wound his sibling, or at least remove him from his bleeding limb. However, the two brothers that had escorted leapt into the brawl, the one on one very suddenly becoming a three on one.

Like daggers, Infinity's claws penetrated the Earth's surface before her large paws, planted firmly and toes flexing as she waited for some movement. Sergeant and Ryder stared each other down like a pair of lions, their sharp eyes never leaving each other's. Infinity's own mystifying orbs stared at Ryder, her eyes never leaving him. And then, the large brute attacked. Watching the slicing of flesh on Sergeant's hind leg rang in her large silver ears, and at first, the female thought Sergeant was able to hold his own. The charcoal gray brute was struggling, but he kept Ryder away from hurting him any more. But the very moment the other two brutes joined in to gang up on Sergeant, her blood boiled with the fire inside her heart, that desired to fight. All hell broke loose. Infinity let out an ear-splitting roar of fury, and charged forward, barreling right into one of the brutes, Lynch. Infinity dodged a sudden swipe of Lynch's massive forepaw, smashing back into his belly, knocking him over. "You little bitch!" Lynch roared, leaping to his paws and charging at Infinity. She quickly sidestepped Lynch and tripped him to his paws, before planting a sharp bite to his flank. "Takes one to now one," Infinity sneered. Suddenly, a new mass of weight landed on top of her. The other brute smashed her to the ground. Infinity snapped at his muzzle, twisting and turning to get away. When the brute was lifted off of her, she quickly got up to see a blaze of brown. Regina! Infinity smiled gratefully, then continued her battle with Lynch, before whipping around to smack Ryder in the face. The black brute glared daggers at her, his attention taken completely off of Sergeant. Infinity gave Sergeant a look that said 'Here's your chance!'

Pain thrummed through his body like live wires, setting every inch of him on fire, electrifying him. It engulfed his being, greedy flames licking at his limbs and tickling his chest. It forced roars of agony and anger to bubble out of his agape maw, teeth on display, exploding out of his mouth. Sergeant twisted and weighed to be free, and soon, he was. Blood was scattered like scarlet ink over his lithe frame, dying his skate fur a ghoulish crimson, edging his lips as he grinned in a ghastly fashion. His brothers, aided by the females, held Ryder in a vice grip that he could not even dream of breaking. The world held its breath as the younger wolf panted, the same terrifying expression remaining on his handsome features, as he stared at his assailant. "It is high treason to try and kill an Alpha." His vice blistered with authority, rumbling darkly throughout the clearing. Blood pooled beneath Sergeant's paws, slowly amassing as if he were standing in a lake of blood. "And there is only one penalty harsh enough to repay it."

Despite all four of her strong, muscled legs feeling they were lit on fire with overwhelming pain, Infinity stayed hungry for battle, daring Ryder to make a single move out of place, purple eyes glaring straight into his yellowish green ones. The silvery gray female watched Sergeant closely as she observed a side of him she'd never seen before. A wolf she'd known for so long, who was normally so polite and gentle compared to the other males, was now violent, and shaken with rage. Listening to the brute speak, she caught the glint of fear sparking in Ryder's glassy orbs, washing her with satisfaction. Before she could agree with Sergeant, or anyone could speak, two other wolves bolted to join them. Rising, Sergeant's father and Alpha of the pack, and Lilac, Sergeant's petty little mate. Her pale green eyes widened at the scene, and looked around. Rising growled darkly. "What is going on? I demand to know." The Alpha spoke, stomping a large forepaw. Before anyone could speak, Infinity approached the much larger wolf. "Your eldest son is a liar, and a forcer. I'd come down here for a fish or two, when he jumped me. I'd been lucky enough to have Sergeant, his brothers, and Regina come to my aid." She explained, meeting the Alpha's cold blue eyes. Rising narrowed his eyes into slits, and huffed, ready to say something. "Ryder? Are you kidding me, mutt? You're just mad because Ryder's been hard on you all this time!" Lilac piped up, pale green eyes darting to meet Infinity's. The silver fae sneered at Lilac. "Oh, is that so? You're as blind as a bat. You get everything you want!" Infinity snarled back. "Enough!" Rising yowled, turning to Sergeant, eyeing his bloodied figure. "Serge, explain, please.." He ordered, a little softer than usual.

"I was walking down for a drink when I smelt Ryder, and his excited stink, and followed with my brothers. He was on Infinity when we intervened. He insulted and attacked me. This is treason." There was no trace of malice, nor venom, in the runt's voice, but a quiet that contested silence at tranquillity. His eyes were as still as a winter's sky, as pallid as the snow, and stared with a justice beyond his mortal age. Sergeant's breathing had calmed from laboured panting, and now his chest barely swelled with breath, as his gaze flickered to Lilac. "Your opinion was not asked for, nor needed. Nor is your presence." He growled, again with the same authority he had addressed Ryder with, gaze cutting into her like a hot knife through butter. Slowly, the grey male allowed himself to rock back onto his haunches, seating himself painfully to rest his tattered hind limb. "He has also crippled his own packmate, regardless of that packmate's status. I doubt I will walk properly again."

Rising listened carefully to his youngest son's words, narrowing his electrifying blue eyes in the direction of Ryder, whom was starting to lose blood, his struggles beginning to die down. He stood there, silent as winter snow for several heartbeats, before turning to Lilac. "You are dismissed. Your input was not necessary." He growled, flicking his tail. A flash of anger glinted in Lilac's green eyes, but she nodded respectfully, before trotting away without any words. Rising turned back to Sergeant. "As high of a crime Ryder has commit, death is not an option. He is to be exiled, never to return, or the death penalty will then be necessary." He spoke emotionlessly, huffing. Infinity stayed quiet, even when Rising turned his gaze on her. "Are you alright, Infinity?" He asked. The silver female nodded her head reassuringly, then turned to look at Sergeant. "We should get him to the healer. If his foot isn't taken care of, he might never walk properly again." She murmured. The black Alpha nodded, and the two wolves padded over to Sergeant and the other two brothers. "Serge, get your arse into the nursery. You too, Infinity." He ordered. Infinity nodded, glancing over at Sergeant. "Do you need any help to camp?" She asked, cocking her head.

Sergeant felt his muscles quiver as the tension slowly eased out of them, the what flooding from them and into his veins, coursing through him like good wine. The rumble of his father's order sounded distant, flicking a tattered ear to acknowledge the command given. Painfully, the very male heaved himself onto three unsteady feet, jaw clenched as he balanced. "I'm fine." He muttered, voice soft as his eyes stared blankly at his blood stained paws. Slowly he began to hobble forwards after his father as the reality set in. He would never see Ryder again. He would never run again. Lilac was still his mats. Sergeant was shellshocked and battle worn, and rapidly loosing blood with it consciousness, as he trudged along.

Infinity's eyes softened with sympathy as she watched him hobble his way up the hill and back to camp, a heavy sigh escaping her maw. With a slighter limp, the silver female made her way back to camp, a few feet behind Sergeant until she was side by side with the male, eyes flickering to him every once in awhile. The Healer, Aria, gasped at the sight of these two wolves, her amber eyes widening. "Come quickly!" She ordered, gently nudging Infinity and sergeant to her den, which was decorated on the inside with many herbs and roots. Infinity entered the den, planting herself down near the back and waiting for Sergeant to join her. She looked up at the brown colored fae, purple eyes meeting golden. "Here, eat these, both of you." Aria murmured gently, as if she was speaking to pups, and nudged purple berries to them both. "It'll ease the pain."

Sergeant was merely silent, not wishing to speak through his clenched teeth as he trudged on his whole body tense with pain. His gaze remained dead ahead, staring blankly as he moved at a slow, agonizing pace that no animal alive should have to suffer at. The healers den was a welcome destination as he slowly sunk down onto his belly, head and eyes rolling to one side as he sighed and breathed in a few times. "I just want to sleep." He mumbled sleepily, eyes drooping as he curled up a little.

Infinity, her whole body being clawed with guilt, scooted over to Sergeant, gently pressing her side against his, careful not to hurt him at all. Aria smiled at the two, and started to work on Sergeant's leg with gentle, comforting care. "Infinity, could you help me with his leg?" She asked with a small voice, worried she would've angered the female. Infinity just shook her head politely, having no problem with helping. She stood, picking out some yarrow, a large leaf with water, and cobwebs. "Will this do?" Infinity asked, which Aria replied with a nod. The silver female, nudged them over to her.

Sergeant's pants were laboured, harsh and erratic, as they began to work on his injured limb. Yowls ad yelps of pain bubbled out of his throat and clawed their way out of his open jaws. "Stop, stop, stop." He pleaded, his visible eye rolling sickly in his socket to try and bring a picture into focus. His tongue lolled out onto the floor, breath stirring dirt of off the ground with the sheer force of his lungs pumping air in and out due to his pain. "Let me sleep!"

Infinity's ears rang from Sergeant's pleas and cries, sympathy welling up in her chest. "Aria, let him be, please." She murmured, turning to the she-wolf, and meeting her gentle amber eyes. "He's in pain. Give him something to ease the pain and help him sleep, we can worry about his leg later on," she added, waiting for Aria's answer. Aria hesitated, but nodded, turning her body around to grab a little bundle of berries. Placing them next to Sergeant, she spoke in a calm voice. "Eat these, okay? They will make sleeping easier, and pain will lessen." She told him, before turning to Infinity. "Are you to be treated?" Infinity just shook her head, looked down at Sergeant with her usually sharp purple eyes. Instead, they were gentle, and didn't possess her usual fiery nature. Infinity laid down next to the male, planting her rather large cranium on silvery-white paws and not looking at anything specific.

Sergeant strained to lift his chiseled head up off of the floor of the healer's den, groaning as his surroundings began to spin dizzily. His head swam, eyes trying fruitlessly to hold one single image place. He found it somewhere in him to move his head, licking up the pawful of berries with a lazy tongue and swallowed them pitifully. The blue male barely felt Infinity settle herself quietly down beside him, their pelts rubbing lightly, as his eyes rolled back into his skull and the settlers took effect.

Infinity's silver ears twitched and rotated as she listened to her surroundings, keeping a careful eye on Sergeant to make sure he didn't hurt himself any further. She leaned her head against his pelt gently, eyes starting to feel droopy and tired. A wide yawn escaped her maw, and with that, the silvery gray female fell asleep next to what she considered a close companion.

Her eyes fluttered open a few hours later, her head lifting to observe what was around her. She blinked tiredly, and stood, aching limbs still stiff from the fight. She stretched and could feel a few pops within her body, before she trotted gracefully out into the clearing. "Serge might be hungry.." She murmured, picking up a couple rabbits. Before she could go back to the den, Lilac caught her attention. "Sucking up to Sergeant, are you?" She sneered. Infinity met the fae's pale green eyes. "No, I'm just being a good friend. Something you have not managed to be." Infinity snapped, before trotting into the den and settling next to Sergeant.

Sergeant was still snoozing when Infinity found herself conscious, and as soon as her warm companionship left the den, he curled up like a newborn pup. Scarlet scratches interrupted his otherwise flawless fur, showing his ropes of compact muscle as he slept. His ribs and chest swelled with easy, light breaths as the male slumbered lightly. He groaned as he roused, lifting a sore head to flicker pale eyes around. "Was I dreaming, Aria?" He grumbled gently, a lazy smile playing along his lips. "Tell it to me straight, I'm still handsome, right?" He joked lightly, stretching his front legs out.

Aria's amber eyes were fixed on many herbs, sandy brown paws brushing and organizing many different ones, for different things. She barely heard the dark furred brute behind her when he spoke, though his voice was audible enough for her to hear. With a light chuckle, Aria turned around to look at Sergeant. "Well, if you are referring to the fight, then no," she replied, then let a smile form on her maw. "Yes, still quite handsome." Aria laughed, then looked from Sergeant to Infinity, her smile turning more into a knowing smirk. Infinity's paws felt warm, and she looked awkwardly at Sergeant. "How do you feel?" She asked, tilting her silver head to face him better, with a small, though beautiful smile played out on her face.

"As long as I'm still my rugged, charming, handsome self, I think I'll make it through." He answered in jest, pricking a tattered ear towards Infinity in preparation for her answer. A light smirk pulled up the corner of his lips, eyes narrowing slightly as he tilted his handsome head a little off kilter. However, his expression dropped as his 'mate' appeared behind the other female and he sighed, dropping his head pathetically to the ground. He shot a mischievous then dropped it before Lilac could notice it. He stretched out stiffly onto his side, rolling an eye back dramatically as he wheezed a few coughs.

Infinity laughed, rolling her heavenly eyes at Sergeant. "I don't think that'll ever change," she answered back, playing along with his little game. She wouldn't deny it, the gray brute laying at her feet was handsome, and quite the charmer. When the female met his eyes, she noticed his expression change, and the familiar scent behind her smacked her dead in the face. Twisting her body around, Infinity rotated her head to meet Lilac's eyes. "Flirting with my mate, are we?" Lilac snarled, her annoyingly high voice straining Infinity's ears. Infinity cleared her voice, and stepped forward, coming almost nose to nose with the smaller female. "Well, ma'am, not that is my place to say, but.. He isn't your mate. He doesn't want to be, and shouldn't have to be. In my eyes, freedom of speech and freedom in general is a basic right." Infinity spoke, her Irish accent hinting slight unease. She loathed Lilac, the two never got along. Lilac's creamy pelt bristled, "His father said I am because he's old enough!" She argued. Infinity stayed calm, her eyes the only thing showing how ready she was to snap Lilac's neck. "Then why can't Serge make his own decisions? Once again, mate, freedom."

Sergeant grunted softly at the other female's voice, cracking a pale blue eye to stare vaguely at Lilac. "Lilac?" He moaned softly, pricking an ear and lifting his head softly. For a split second, it seemed as if he was genuinely happy to see her, before his lips drew over his teeth and he skittered unsteadily to his paws. The grey brute drew himself up the best he could, hackles along his back risen. His leg was twisted agonisingly beneath him, bent at an unnatural angle to try and support his weight. "Enough of this, the both of you." He snarled, voice blistering with authority.

Infinity glanced at Sergeant, her lovely purple eyes meeting his for a mere couple seconds, before she glanced back at the creamy furred female. "I don't understand you, Lilac. I've never done a thing wrong," she muttered, eyes narrowing into hostile slits, before they softened once more. "But I'm done arguing. Fuck you, have a lovely day, milady," Infinity began to walk away, no longer wishing to bicker with the oh-so-perfect Lilac, ears laced back. Lilac snarled. "I'm not..." She snarled, and before Infinity could react, the creamy female leapt forward sinking her teeth into Infinity's shoulder, her body landing square onto hers. Infinity yelped, and swung her body around, knocking Lilac off of her back. "What is the damn meaning of this?" Rising's booming voice growled, as he barged forward. Lilac tried to lunge at Infinity again, her teeth snapping onto the silver female's maw, drawing blood. Infinity took the heat, before swiftly knocking Lilac clean off her paws. Rising's electric blue eyes burned, though, he stayed calm and professional. Turning to Sergeant, his features softened. "Son, explain? I'll decide what to do when I get the whole story," he stated calmly.
