As I walked briskly yet gracefully down the sidewalk towards the mall, I watched people drive by in their cars with envy. Talking aloud to myself I asked in an annoyed tone, "Why can't I have a car? Stupid parents..." Completely unaware of my surroundings I walked straight into some guy's shoulder. "Ohmygosh! I'm so sorry!" I looked over to my right and saw I'd dropped my purse I picked it up and looked back at the guy. He was extremely good looking. A confused look covered my face, "How come I've never seen you around here?" Our town was really sml so everyone knew everyone, except this guy must be new. "Oh, I'm Veronica by the way, but my freinds call me Ronnie."

"I'm new here." i said to her smiling

{Veronica}
I smiled kindly, "Oh, I see." I pushed away a strand of my bangs that had moved out of place and into my eyes. "What's your name?"

Jacob
"Mine is Jacob." i said putting my hands in my sweatshirt pockets

{Veronica}
"Well Jacob, are you going to go to North High School?" I knew he was going to say yes, North High was the only high school in the town. Unless he was still in junior high, which I seriously doubted.

Jacob
"Yes I'm going there." i said

{Veronica}
I smiled, "I'm going there too! Even though I've been going there for 2 years now. I'm going to be a junior, are you going into eleventh grade?"

Jacob
"12 actually." i said to her

{Veronica}
I sighed, the good ones were always older. My smile faded little, "Oh," I brought it back up and continued, "Myabe I'll see you around then." I turned to walk away and without thinking my shoulders dropped. I began to walk away, my eyes closed. I focused on the sound of my footsteps and headed towards the mall to find that outfit I'd left the house for in the first place.

"What's the matter with you?" i asked before she turned away

{Veronica}
I looked up at him, I was short so I literally looked up at him. "The matter with me? Nothing, I was just hoping you were my age so we could actually be good friends. It's harder to be friends though if someone is older, I would know. I've been through it before so I didn't bother trying this time." I locked eyes with him, "Unless you want to try and stay friends..." I shrugged, "But don't think you have to say yes, I'll understand if you say no." My voice had gotten soft and I turned away, breaking his gaze.

"I'd like that." i said

{Veronica}
I grinned and stepped toward him, "I'd like that too." Suddenly a light bulb in my mind clicked on. "Do you have a phone?" I looked around to see if my parents had come looking for me as always. I said I would only be gone an hour and it's been an hour and 15 minutes.

I smiled and handed Jacob a piece of paper with my number on it. I looked over at the new kids and smiled, "Hi, I'm Veronica but you can call me Ronnie. Are you two new here too?" I smiled kindly to both, hoping at least one of them was in eleventh grade.

I grinned widely and exclaimed, "To North High School?!" I knew it was a yes, but you never know.
