Broken Trust [ JayzPF ]

Evie whirled around, momentarily chasing her tail. She flicked her ears back towards her long-time friend. She'd known him ever since they were pups: born and raised in the same area. Forever they'd be friends, Evie thought. She loved him like her brother, though over the recent years it may have become more than just a friendship, but she was perfectly content with only being his friend. At the moment, Evie was sniffing around the place, haphazardly chasing down a rabbit she'd seen go by this way, though she wasn't necessarily hungry. Evie snorted and rolled her eyes at her friend, who was a ways behind her. He seemed to actually be trying to hunt like a real wolf would, but Evie wasn't hungry, and she really only was looking forward to the chase, whether she made the kill or not, "Hurry up! You're so slow!" Evie barked back at him before turning around and bounding away a few paces, sniffing the ground, then snorting and staring back at him. Evie wasn't about to leave him behind, but she was getting impatient, and the more she waited, the more she actually got hungry. "C'mon, c'mon!" She called back to him, sitting down and tilting her head, ears pricked forward, as she stared at him, tail plopping up and down beside her impatiently.

Mike(sorry such a weird name i might change it) grunted, muscular body crouched and ready to pounce. The squirrel he was stalking grew alert, minuscule ears pricked and swiveling. It scurried away at the sound of his girl partner, Evie, speaking. "Great, just great." he muttered, upset at loosing his prey. He watched Evie bounce around impatiently and sighed. "I'm coming! Geesh." The handsome brute crept forward, eyes darting over the landscape around him in hope of finding some other prey. His golden eyes rested on his friend and he shivered ever so slightly while going over her perfect body. Evie might be just his friend, but that didn't have any affect on how his hormones acted. He shook his coat and straightened up, taking steady steps forward. A piercing shriek rang out from under him and he lifted his paw to see a squished vole. It was rather plump, so he dived down and brought his strong jaws around it's neck, crushing it's windpipe and killing it almost instantly. Mike lifted it out of the little hole and proudly shoved it towards Evie, who was looking a little hungry. He was the more practical of the two, always calm and reasonable. This difference caused them to fight often but they had always made up before. Mike teased her lightheartedly saying "Don't eat too much or you'll get fatter than you already are!", unaware that this statement would end their friendship.

Mike looked stunned. "It was a joke!" he called to Evie, but she was out of earshot. He grunted and looked down at the vole she'd thrown at him. It had barely felt like anything, considering how much muscle he had. The brute picked it up with jaws like steel and turned his body the other way, head still watching the retreating form of the female. If Evie was his true friend, she would realize that he didn't mean it. Soon she was gone, so Mike continued on his own path bitterly, thinking about how wrong that had turned out. Oh well. On second thought, he went back to the site of the fight and carefully placed the fat vole in it's hole, covering it a bit in case some other animal would smell it. He knew that Evie was never a pro at hunting and tended to rely on him or steal for food, so she might be hungry and come back. The male surveyed his work and nodded once. He backed away and urinated, leaving a clear trail of his scent. Then he turned and ran, back to the cave that they shared and took a deer slab and heaved it away. Mike kept going until he found a smaller cave that suited him and dumped his load in the far corner, then dumped his load in one corner. He circled around once and fell asleep.

(how about she runs out of food and steals his and he gets mad so he forces her later?)

Mike twitched in his sleep, dreaming he was chasing a female. She turned, and he gasped, realizing that the female was Evie. The sleeping male woke up from his dream and looked around, noticing that the deer piece was gone. "Evie!" he scolded quietly. He stood and stretched his legs, and padded out of the small cave. His nose confirmed that Evie had been here not too long ago and that she was in the area. The brute turned away, still upset at her, and trotted in to the woods to kill another animal, since Evie had taken his only food, the slab of deer. He heard a fawn and it's mother and easily located them resting under a tree. He pounced on the larger deer's back, killing it almost instantly from his weight and a good solid bite to the jugular vein. He left the fawn crying for it's mom, and he knew that a fawn without it's mother was a dead fawn. Evie would be able to find and kill it without too much trouble, that is, if it wasn't already deceased. He grunted and dragged the carcass to his cave, but, as it was now too small to contain him and the body, so he shoved it in and went in search of a new den.

(OMG SO MANY COMMAS! How about she keeps taking the kills because she is too impatient[no offense] to hunt and he gets mad because i really don't know how he is going to get mad enough to forcer her with one steal)

Mike growled, frustrated that he couldn't find a proper den. He padded around the rocky area again, peering in to cracks hoping that a cave might follow. He leapt onto the tall monument of stone. There was a small entrance to the rock that was well concealed by an Ivy vine creeping up the side. The male squeezed in, finding that it was very roomy inside the hollow form, almost big enough to be a cavern. He glanced around the dim room, noting that there was a smaller area in the back. He wandered around, claws plinking on the hard stone floor, until he was at the little space. It was the perfect size and temperature to store several deer or a buck. The brute nodded approvingly and squeezed back out, marking his territory on the Ivy. He quickly ran to the forest and surprised a rabbit, then grabbed and killed it. He shoved it in to his den for later and trotted back to his first den happily, thinking about how well his search had turned out. He went into his place and stopped in the entrance, shocked that the deer was missing. He growled and galloped away angrily, plotting about what he could do in revenge. He ran to his den and curled up inside, nibbling at the rabbit that he'd tossed in earlier.

(FAIL...)

Mike scowled to himself, gnawing at the rabbit. Sure, Evie had taken food from him lots of times, but she had always shared. He seethed at her for getting the prey that HE had killed. Oh well. The next time he saw her, he was going to apologize. He was like that, attitude changing by the second.The brute sighed and peeked out of the cave, watching the silvery moon rise higher and higher in to the sky. He crawled out completely and sat on the ledge, gazing across the landscape. The cool night sea breeze caressed his tannish coat, making him shiver. He yawned and walked back in to his cave, circling around the rabbit and lying down and falling asleep.

(like he goes to apologize but he gets mad again because she teases him and forces her I think or something)

(arg! I had like 10 lines and then i lost it all!! I'm so mad right now sorry for not posting a lot)

Mike woke up and yawned, showing his large fangs. He got to his feet and crept outside and his golden eyes surveying the beautiful scenic valley below. He let out a sigh so soft it was lost in the refreshing breeze. The brute turned and carefully picked his way down the rock, claws making small clicking sounds. At the base of the monument, he looked around, sniffing the ground to try and locate Evie. This fight has gone on long enough! Mike thought and trotted in to the woods to where the female was.
