I smile and look away

Feeling self conscious at his refusal to look at her, she decided to break the silence.

“Run with me” she said with a grin taking off towards the apple tree at a canter, glancing back to see if he followed.

I laughed and followed her

Laughing uncontrollably she slowed near the apple tree throwing a few bucks and crow hops.

“Its amazing here!” she said, reaching up the tree for an apple.

I laugh and rear, whinning into the air

She giggles at his youthfulness.

“Have you always lived in these gorgeous lands?” she asked. She was so enthralled with her new surroundings, and her new friend.

The closeness, however, was beginning to make her feel uneasy.

“Lucky’ she smirked, looking at him.

She handed him the other half of her apple.

“Here” she offered.

She leans her head down to graze.

She watches him as he grazes, wondering what he was thinking. More specifically, what he thought of her. Feeling self conscious and not wanting him to see her looking at him, she turns away.

I smile and lift my head up and perk my ears up "What o you think of humans?" I ask her

She lifts her head up, unsure of how to answer.

“well,” she begins, “I haven’t had any experience with them…but I’ve heard that they are horrible creatures. ‘Breaking’ horses and making all animals bend to their will.” She tried not to get too worked up. “But that’s just what I’ve heard.”

She looks at him, hoping she didn’t say anything wrong.
