In The World Of Silence (Daydreamer)

Kyle stood beneath one of the large oak tree's on the school campus. Textbook underneath one arm as he talked to his friends. Some of the cheerleaders were standing there, giggling. He sighed, he didn't want to listen to their squeaky voices and giggles. They were so shallow it made him sick. He patted his friend on the shoulder, "Alright, Im off" he said as he turned and walked away. Kyle was one of the most popular guys in the school, the football and basketball star and he was good looking. As he walked he saw one of his team-mates shout, "Go long!" and without thinking threw the ball in the air, it was way off. He saw that if someone didn't catch it, it would hit the pretty girl siting under the tree. Kyle shot off, and just before it hit her face, he caught it in the palm of his hand.

Kyle looked at the girl, confusion written on his face. She pulled away as if he was something disgusting. Then her face met his, and he saw her studying it. Kyle then realized who it was. Sienna, the volleyball star, one of the most prettiest girls in school, but she was also deaf. She could barely hear anything. Kyle smiled warmly at her, he wasn't to positive how he should talk to her, as he never did, but that didn't stop him. She quickly mumbled a thanks, before scurrying off. He blew out a breath and ran a hand through his hair. He could hear his friends calling for him. He threw the ball back, to them and followed Sienna.

Kyle kept walking after her, he caught her gaze and saw that she was looking curiously at him. He wasn't surprised, he himself was curious to what he was doing. He saw that some girls were waving him over and yelling their "hello's" one girl came up to him, and cocked her head, trying to be 'sexy'. "Hey Kyle, my parent's are out this weekend, how about we make it a two people party" she said her voice low. Kyle tried not to look disgusted at her, she was the school's slut, and tried multiple times to come onto him. "No thanks Abbey, I have plans" he quickly said and started to walk over to Sianna, and sat down across the table from her. The question arose in his head, again. 'what are you doing!?' He looked at her with his blue eyes, "Hello".

Kyle kept his warm smile, at her as he sat down. She raised her gaze to meet his, and he could tell she was still confused to why she was here. After his hello, she responded with a hi, except in sign language. He watched the small movement, he knew she could lip-read from what other people said. No one really tried to get to know her thought, maybe he could. "Is this how you say hi?" he asked, and copied the movement, although it was slow and choppy compared to her fleeting smooth hand signal.

Kyle saw her smile, and he smiled himself, glad that he hadn't made a total fool of himself. He could hear some of the other girls whispering and saying nasty things, but he really didn't care. He watched her as she did the sign language. He imagined what it would have to be like, to have to use that in every-day life. He met her gaze, he shrugged, "I wanted to say hi" he said slowly. He hoped she didn't think he was one of the jerk jock's he really wasn't it was just the stereo-type he was put into after getting onto the football team.

Kyle saw her fidget and he couldn't help but smile, he knew that she seemed nervous talking to him. He wouldn't be scared away from talking to her, again he heard a couple of whispers from his side. "What is he doing?" were most of them. He cocked his head at her "Your name is Sianna right? My names Kyle" he said slowly keeping eye contact, hopefully she would catch that.

Kyle's spirit's were lowered once he saw that sad look in Sianna's eyes. He cursed himself almost immediately, she looked like she was about to cry. He must off made it pretty difficult for her. "Wait..." he started to say but she was already gathering her books, and walked towards the school. He sighed and leaned against he bench, watcher her go. Then Abby walked up to him, "What are you doing Kyle, Are you like going after that girl or something, because newsflash! She's deaf" she said with a small laugh. Kyle glared at her, "I really don't care Abby" he said with a frown, and grabbed his backpack and went back into the school for the last period.
