Personality: Alyda has always is good at bullying her way around human beings when they push her buttons. She's never too harsh or too lenient, but she isn't afraid to stand her ground. But then again...that always seems to be when it comes to humans. She's an intelligent young woman but can be a bit naive when it comes to things most teenage girls worry about - boys in particular. She's never had a real interest in them, but she has been interested in the act of being interested, seeing as she never could get herself into gossiping about them with her two older sisters. She's not the most talkative girl in the world, but she's not silent either. She was raised to be obedient and never to question orders aloud. She has a very distinct instinct from telling right and wrong, but she doesn't follow the "mainstream" versions of right and wrong. She tends to make the rules up as she goes, unless it's her father's rules - then it's just law, pretty much. Despite being a Slayer, she's unusually timid and can be very shy at times. It takes her a while to open up to people and oftentimes she'd rather be by herself reading a good book rather than socializing at the many parties her parents hosted (mostly to see other Slayers in private and whatnot...the typical undercover type thing). She really hates people who think they're 'all that' and isn't afraid to give them a piece of her mind about it, either. She has a thing against blood...but she's grown up around Slayers she's gradually become used to it, but she refuses to let killing vampires come in between her caring about other people in general. She can actually be easily hurt by words but never lets it show - what can she say? She was raised to be like that. She often regrets letting her father make her into who he wants her to be rather than her becoming her own person...but, like a good girl, she's never voiced her own opinions on the matter. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have them.
History: Alyda is the youngest of four children. She has two older sisters, one 18 (named Gretchen) and the other 17 (named Leila). She also has one younger brother named Leon, who is 14. All of her older siblings went through the same thing she will - on their 16th birthday, they go out on their very first hunt and bring back a vial of blood from the vampire they killed to be put in a trophy case of some sort. But that's just normal behaviour for a family of vampire slayers. Alyda has always lived in the shadows of her older sisters and she knows it, too, and doesn't try to hide from the fact. She's terrified of failing her father not because she has respect for him, but because she didn't know what he'd do if she did fail. Her father had always been unpredictable like that. As much as she could, she had a normal childhood. Her mother died a year after Leon was born, which, oddly, didn't crush her as much as she thought, considering her mother was the only nice one to her in the family, even if she was still a cold and distant bitch most of the time. She's lived her life, not trying to surpass her siblings, but from the shadows trying to be the best of herself that she can be, even if it isn't exactly what her father is expecting.
