Temptation (R, Stormsong.)

Abbey barged into his room in a fit of giggles. She pounced on Max's back and shook him. "Wake up Max, wake up."

I quickly woke up and gently tackled Abby so gently,"Why do I have to wake up? Is the mistress hurting you?" I asked looking all over her

Abbey giggled and pushed him away. "No, my sister says that we're going somewhere today. She told me to come get you and that you know where. Where are we going?"

"I don't honestly know." I said just as confused. I took Abby's hand and lead her out going to find Lila

Abbey skipped along beside him and led him into the kitchen. Lila smiled at her sister and told her to go play. Abbey cocked her head in confusion. "What's play?" she asked.

I just watched them with curiosity

She shook her head. "Go take care of Dusk," she said. Abbey nodded and skipped away. Lila looked at him with large blue eyes. She smiled and pulled him into a hug.

"Why are you so happy?" I asked

She pressed his head to her shoulder and whispered in his ear. "You said that you had a place for us to run to right?"

"Yes, where's Martha?" I asked as im taking her with us

As if on cue, the elderly maid scurried into the room. "Oh dear, the Mistress said that she was coming back today. All the maids are bustling about trying to get their fill of their husbands before they return to the fields." She stopped and stared at Max and Lila. "Well come on then, we have to get to work cleaning up the fancy dining room."

"The other maids can do it, your coming with us Martha." I said taking her arm in my hand and leading her to the door

Martha cried out, thinking she was going to be beaten. Lila patted the old woman's hand. "Calm down Martha, it's okay."

"Martha she will never find us, me, you, Lila, and abby are going to America." I said

"What about Dusk?" Abbey was standing right behind him, stroking the dog's pelt.

"He's coming to." I said

Abbey giggled and ran into her room. She returned with her blanket and held her arms up to Max.

I picked her up,"Come Martha." I said getting close to Lila and kissing her

Abbey wrapped the blanket around the both of them and rested her head against Max's chest. She gripped her favorite corner and popped her thumb into her mouth. Lila smiled and kissed him back. Martha tried to think f things that she should do first but then decided to stay quiet. She linked arms with Lila and followed Max out the door.

We got to the docs, my father had sent us his fastest boat. I smiled.

Abbey looked all around her. "What's that?" She pointed at one thing. "What's that?" She pointed at something else. "What's that?" She pointed stright ahead at the water.

"You'll learn." I said grabbing Lila's ass smiling.

Lila giggled and swatted his hand away. A man watched them with a sly grin on his face. He had a pitbull laying at his feet. With a knock in the side the dog awoke and looked around. It's beady eyes rested on Dusk. It snarled and ran to the end of its chain and barked. Dusk stopped to face the new challnger. He growled in warning.

I kicked the pit,"Do you really want to lose your job?" I asked the man. I picked up Dusk and brought him on board. I put Martha and Abby in a room and me and Lila. I kissed her,"How are you feeling?" I asked her.

Dusk snarled at the dog and disappeared on the ship. Lila sighed and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm scared," she said.
