Personality ~ A complete and total geek is probably one of the best ways to describe Mel, especially since she considers herself one. She absolutely loves pop culture, and pretty much all the normal geeky stuff.. Though when she first transitioned to high school she had a lot of reservations around being able to show that geekiness since she didn't want to be taken as a guy, since then she's become more comfortable with who she is. That comfortableness doesn't mean she's incredibly outgoing though, in fact she's more reserved than anything, sometimes a meek voice, and has a lot of nervous energy about her, especially when it comes to people around her. She's never quite sure how people are going to take her, and even things like compliments can end up embarrassing her. Strangely enough, this is almost entirely flipped though when it comes to online interaction or text messaging type of interaction where she can be quite chattery and opens up a little bit more.
When she does 'come out of her shell' she is a bit quirky, and occasionally will draw from pop culture references that she can make. Her main sense of humor tends to be around sarcasm or she really loves making puns too, even if they are absolutely horrible and she knows it. But if someone else points out how horrible the pun is she gets a bit red. 

Because she's always felt like a freak and not always fit in, the people that tend to accept her for what she wants to be accepted as can have a lot of power over her, to the point that she can become blind to some terrible things they might do or have done to her. This power can often be in the form of simply going with the flow that is decided by someone else too. She's very much a laid back person and takes things as they come, which means it is harder to get her angry or all out of sorts, though embarrassed and shy are quite easy to see on her. Despite being in touch with her emotions well and sometimes others, she's actually not that much of a romantic, usually sticking to the hard sciences and logic, though she does enjoy poetic type things like poetic tragedy or poetic justice.  Finally, she has a major issue around her hair, and tends to get pretty angry with people that touch it, which is why when she does want it cut, she does it herself nowadays. Only people who have been intimate with her seem to have no problems at all with touching her hair.

Personal Belongings ~ USB Drive: A Terabyte USB drive necklace shaped as a phoenix where the tail of the phoenix comes off to reveal the USB plug in. It is colored red and gold. 
Canvas Satchel: She has a satchel which carries a variety of technology pieces such as earbuds for communication, extra cellphones, a tablet, and a laptop, along with random things

Skills ~ Hardware Engineering: She is superb, especially now with her abilities, in constructing, and fixing computers, and various other technological hardware such as phones, earbuds, and tablets. She's continually trying to improve technological hardware that she uses to be even better.
Computer Literacy: Mel has become fluent in C++, html, binary, and a few other computer software programming languages. She can actually read binary right off the screen, though she can't remotely speak it.
Piano Talent: From a young age she has been playing the piano, and knows how to read music, though the last few years she has had little practice on it. She's not amazing, but she does know a few complicated songs. 
Singing: This is one of her first major passions, when her father saw her singing he got her into playing piano too, for accompanying it. Around puberty she stopped singing for the longest time, until she got back into it with college choirs around her transition as a way of getting voice lessons she wanted.
Robotics: She has a love for robotics and wants to eventually get further into it, but for now she only has some basic knowledge around it and is slowly learning more on her own.
Parkour: After her transition she started trying to stay a bit more fit to make up for the extra fat she took on, and resulted in doing some parkour combined with freerunning. It's her main source of exercise and she's gotten quite good at it.

Clothing Style ~ It tends to be a bit chaotic, with her frequently trying out rather crazy or ridiculous outfits and combining accessories or pieces of clothing together that a lot of people don't think to do. Sometimes she's firmly with femme clothing and occasionally she goes for the big tee and jeans. She avoids most make-up other than base and eye make-up.
As for shoes, she's worn all different styles and absolutely loves pointing out that she can run pretty darn fast in three inch heels. She tends to mostly avoid wedges though.
