I smiled as I grabbed my coat, almost faltering, as I felt my wings quivering, shrinking back to an almost unseeable size, beneath a coat anyway. I slid the trench coat back on, shivering as I felt the damp cold that clung to the rough fabric. I closed my eyes and glanced to the ground," Sorry. I really shouldn't show you my eyes.." I moved my hand over my sealed lids, careful to let none of my eyes be seen.

"Why not?" I question. He didn't have to answer it, but I would like to know. My normal brown eyes turned from the ground to him. His eyes closed and his hand covering their lids. I found him truly amazing, why was he hiding? Didn't he know I didn't hate him?

I opened one eye, taking a quick look at her angelic face, before closing it again." I just don't want you to act like everyone else who looks at my eyes too long." I moved my slightly damp hair from my eyes quickly, making sure to not open my eyes, I moved my hand finally and let it fall to my side, eyes remaining closed.

I step closer to him. Lifting a hand to touch his shoulder before lowering once more. Unsure if I should touch him or not. "I like your eyes though.." I say softly. The cool night air lifting my hair. I pull it around my shoulder so it would blow on my back. "Plus, it seems sort of silly to keep your eyes closed all the time" I nearly giggled, but instead just smiled.

I was almost startled by what she said at first, opening my eyes, but temporarily removing the hypnosis spell I had put on them so long ago," It does seem sort of silly. But I do have these-" I whipped my sunglasses out my pocket, flashing them quickly before they vanished back into the trench coat pocket," To hide my eyes.." I smiled briefly before running a hand through my slightly dampened, black hair.

His eyes were a relief, but they still had a mysterious pull to them. "Even without those eyes you know I would find you interesting" I chuckle softly. Letting myself laugh for once in quite a long time. My father had been everything to me. "Well... I should probably get this back to my mom... But I don't really want to leave" I say, smiling and blushing at my ridiculous comment.

I smiled brightly at her comment, feeling my wings ruffle at her words," I suppose it would be courteous to, at least escort you home. I am truly sorry for keeping you for so long." I bowed my head slightly before standing upright and smiling again," May I ask your name, young miss?" I asked politely, my gentlemanly manners kicking their way into my sentence.

"That's alright, I probably would've wasted time wondering about anyway" I smile slightly before stepping forward down the alley. Knowing this town like the back of my hand. "Christina, yours?" My modern speech contrasted with his gentle words. He was very polite. Alot different than the typical men and women of my own age. But then again, he may just be human with wings. But that didn't really seem feasible..

" My name is Dante, pleased to meet you, Christina." I flashed a bright smile and my eyes shone briefly," I guess this is where we part-" I took a breath and removed a stray strand of straight, dark hair that seemed limp and plastered against my skin from the 5-minute downpour earlier in the day," I opened my mouth to ask if we'd meet again but the words didn't flow out in their usual way, they didn't even emerge at all!

Christina

I lower my gaze and nod "I guess so" I say. Standing outside my door. "So... Would you like to do something tomorrow?" I ask. Surprised I managed the words.

I nodded enthusiastically," I would very much like to see you again, Christina.. Perhaps we could meet at the store, like today, and head off from there?" I was nearly fit to bursting with overwhelming joy toward such a subject, I swallowed my emotions down and focused on her face, Christina's Angel-Fae-like face. Reminding me so discreetly of the face of an Angel-Fae that I knew till not long ago.

Christina

I smile at him and nod "Sounds great, is the same time ok?" I asked before pulling my bangs out of my face once more. Black hair darkened in the night and from being wet. I heard my mothers voice inside, complaining about my absence. "I gotta go... I'll meet you there" I say and smile. Hesitating before putting my hand on the silver door handle.

" I'll see you soon, my dear Christina." I smiled brightly bowing before whipping round quickly and jumping into the frigid night air, landing atop a low-roofed building. I felt my wings quiver and shake with my calling, my wings ripped through my coat as they grew and stretched before beating and lifting my already slightly far body into the black sky, headed towards the south side of town.

Christina

I blush at his words and low bow, then watch as he jumps onto the building. Forcing myself to step inside. I toss the spice to my brother. Who struggles to catch it. "Aren't you going to eat, hunny?" My mother asks, and I respond "Not hungry". Opening my door, I step inside my room and walk around to my keyboard. Sitting down and playing a simple scale. Fingers gliding easily over the ivory and obsidian colored keys. The instrument singing sweetly through the air around me.

I laid around on a crumpled bed of sheets, missing the days of true sleep. Now it was.. Just empty, nothing was ever dreamed, no nightmares. Just a blank nothingness. Christina was lucky to not have my curse, I could've changed her, like most of my kind would. Not me. She was too pure and innocent, not even the most foul of creature could not, and would not, ever touch such a radiant being. And here, I feel like she's all mine. All mine. What a selfish, unjust creature I must be.

Christina

I woke to a sore back and aching shoulders. Startling into a sitting position, I realized I had fallen asleep at the keyboard. I hadn't done that in a while. I smile slightly and stand up. Wincing as I stretch and yawn. A thundering knock broke my peaceful silence. I jump violently "What?!" I snap, only to find it was my mother. Someone was at the door for me? I sigh in annoyance and open my door. Pulling my hair back into a messy updo and rubbing my face. "Who?" She shrugs softly and I walk down the hallway to the door. Rolling my eyes to find Jacob in the doorway. "Go away" I growl, and he frowns. The door shut harshly in his face, and I smirk at the door that now met my gaze. Oh well if he found that extremely painful. He deserved it. A smile pulled at my lips as I practically skip down the hallway and into the bathroom to shower. Catching a questioning look from my mother. I shrug dramatically and shut the door. Locking it as I always did when my brother's were home.
