Living Darkness~+~ [[ Wild One, M ]]

John rolled the light of his flashlight across the cave floor and shivered slightly. We all paused a moment and listened to the dripping of water from the soda straw formations above. The sound was so clear and precise- or it usually was. Oddly, John picked up on a sort of hissing noise in the background. his brows furround and he took a large breath. He shook his head at himself and turned to Emily. By the look on the others' faces, they hadn't noticed the extra sound. "Emily.. Are there larger animals that live inside caves?" He asked her, his voice quiet and low in his throat. "I mean, like dog sized and bigger" He said and glanced around again.

Emily shook her head, "Bears but not in this kind of cave. Nothing else could be bigger then this little guy." She said pointing up at the bat. She then looked towards something as it moved and a bewildered look came on her face when she saw it, hissing and looking at her, she couldn't see more then it's eyes though and quickly took John's flashlight and pointing it over but the eyes disappeared and she muttered, "What the hell was that?" Quietly then handed his flashlight back, "Sorry." She said, looking paler then normal, "I think my minds playing tricks on me, I thought I saw something looking at us." She said looking quite ashamed.

John jumped when she snatched his light and he glared over at her. She handed it back and he stepped back towards the tunnel. "You know... I'm starting to think this cave isn't such a good idea..." He said, and flashed the light up above him. The hissing sound increased in volume gradually.

[[ SSS ]]

(Ehl gross looking and scary, like the predators from primeval but different.)

Emily fallowed close by, wishing she had brought a flashlight. Hearing his words she nodded, "Me too." She listened to the loud hissing sound and asked, "What makes that noise?" Figuring it was water running down some kind of rock. She then heard something running towards them and looked around seeing nothing till bam she spot eyes again. She jumped slightly and bumped some one, without even looking to see who it was she said "Sorry" then looked back where the eyes were, they where gone. She gulped and wished she had a boyfriend to holds hand at the moment.

[[ Lol I said that they had eyes, but they don't. They're cave creatures... They don't have eyes.... And the post goes way back. >___< ]]

(Ops, we could pretend they do or ummm pretend that they haven't seen them yet just heard?)

[[ Okay, so John just saw the creature for a moment as it ran from the light, and they were just creeped out by the hissing? ]]

(Yea sure.)

John heard the hissing increase in volume as they stood in the cave, his heart threatening to break the walls of his rib cage. He heard a creepy clicking sound, like someone was slowly turning a crank. He whirled around and pointed the light towards the sound. A screech filled the air but he only saw a blur of movement. He moved towards the exit. "Okay, everyone out. Now" He said.

Emily saw it and crocked her head then heard him and rushed towards the exit. She could hear something fallowing them and her heart began to pound hard and steady, the noise was loud enough to faintly hear. She was careful not to fall.

A clapping noise similar to wet, bare feet on tile floor was faintly sounding behind them and he felt a chill crawl up his spine. The others were inside the tunnel but they had ventured further into the cave without them. John paused, letting Emily move ahead of him before he followed. He shined a light behind him and froze. A series of squeals echoed off the walls and hurt his ears. The creepy creatures turned and ran from the light that seemed to burn their thin skin. He shook his head and backed up towards the tunnels.

[[ What should stop them from leaving?? ]]

( Ummm the entrance collapses some how?)

Emily listend to the foot falls and started to tremble with fear, when she heard the screeches she grasped her ears in pain but focused on getting out of the cave. She started to literly run even though the ground was slippery and if she fell it wouldn't be a pretty site. She soon reached the entrance and looked back, soming was near her, in front of her but she had acadently allowed John to fall back as she ran. Fear filled her as it got closer and soon she screamed uncontrollably and the creature did to as if the noise was incredibly painful.

John turned around and ran as she had. He slowed near her and cupped his ears at the sound. He then flashed the light in the direction of the creature and it quickly darted away. John's breath echoed in his ears as he looked over at Emily. "Go" He told her, and just after he said that the ground trembled. He crouched down to steady himself and looked towards the entrance. The trembling Earth shook rocks off the cave and the entrance fell in. He shook his head and backed up to the area. He kept the light in front of them so the creatures wouldn't come close. "There's another tunnel across the way. We could run for it with the flashlight..." He suggested between labored breaths. It was almost 100% humidity in the cave, making any sort of exercise much more difficult.

Emily was about to enter then the rocks tumbled down, "Great." She mumered going to copy his position when a rock hit her leg and made her fall. She looked to her leg, a large bolder was on it, crushing the entire bone spot in between her knee and ankle. She wanted to scream but fought it and fet tears rush to her eyes and water up but she fought those to. She started to push at the bolder to try and get off then heard him and nodded but first they'd need to get this off, "Owe." She said moving the huge bolder rock slightly and she was forced to bite her lip. She clenched her eyes tight and her teeth.

John looked back at her and winced when he saw the bolder. "Here" He said, and handed her the flashlight. The creatures hissed and clicked at the scent of the blood, their hunger forcing them closer to the light. The dim outside of the light allowed them to be seen without them being in pain. Their long fangs clicked together as their popped their jaws and clawed anxiously at the wet rock. John forced himself not to look at them. "Make sure they don't get too close" He told her and began to push at the boulder.

Emily watched shaking in fear seeing them. She nodded to his words and flashed it at them making them get away but they kept creeping back when she flashed to another. She winced and bit her lip harder when he began to push the bolder. Ignoring the terrible pain the best she could she kept flashing the light on the creature's skin.

A grunt escape John as he pushed harder against the large rock. It lifted slightly, and he pushed it quickly while it was on it's end. It spun to the right and released her leg. He let it down with a quiet scraping sound and wiped his hands on his jeans. John winced at the wound. "Are you okay to walk?" He asked her.

Emily couldn't help but to scream in pain and clenched the flashlight. The creatures screamed as she did, once it was off she shrugged, "I don't know, but it hurts." She said trying not to whine or complian. She then focused back on the creatures and shining on their skin.

John frowned, trying to think about what to do. He ignored the fact that Nick may not have made it out alive- this was no time for grief. John looked at the creatures and gritted his teeth. Stooping down, he picked Emily up into his arms. Ignoring the fact that is may have seemed to close for her liking. "Keep them off me with the light" He said before walking towards the creatures. There were several of them, maybe a little over fifty or so. He tried to ignore the clicking of their jaws and the way their throat made the low gurgling and clipping sounds. They seemed to purr and hiss at the same time. What the hell were those things? He flexed the muscle along his jaw and it rippled under the skin as he continued towards the other tunnel.

Emily felt him pick her up and was surprised, she liked it though. Nodding at his words she lit up around them, one lunged to grabe her leg and just in the nick of time shined the light on it. She kept moving the flash light in a circle then looked up hearing something, they were on the walls to!(if ok) She gulped but kept flashing around, what are these things?! She asked herself mentally.

[[ Yea, in the COD4 game they crawl down from the ceilings lol ]]

John noticed the creatures, but blocked them out. He trusted Emily as she kept them away from the pair. Finally, they reached the tunnel and he kept her in his arms as he wandered further into the cave. He found a small crevice in the rock that they didn't seem to be in and he set her down. Sitting beside her, he tried to slow his breath and flashed the light to make sure none of them were near. "I have extra batteries, but they won't last forever" He whispered, afraid that the creatures would hear them with their acute hearing.

Emily felt him set her down and pain shot through out her leg, even though he wasn't rough. With a frightened look she nodded, "Ok but what about food and water?" She said before her phone started ringing loudly. With wide eyes she pulled it out and went to throw it but she didn't have the strength to throw away her phone that held so much research and memories.

John looked over at her and was ready to tell her he had only a few granola bars and a bottle of water when he phone rang loudly. His eyes widened and he nudged her. "Do something" He snapped, flashing the light towards the ground. This way he could see if the were nearby but they wouldn't sense it from a distance.
