Kota shook out his wet pelt and grunted. "Why are we in the rain then?" he growled and started to trot away from her, back into the forest under the cover of the tree canopy.

Layla rolled her eyes. "I have a den." She growled, trotting to it. It was average sized, but it would do. "Now get your wet but over here!" She snapped.

Kota growled at her and started to follow. He stifled all the nasty things he wanted to say, keeping them locked away inside. "fine."

Layla's muscles ached, but she showed no pain in her eyes. She laid down on the floor, her beautiful aqua blue eyes meeting his brownish amber. Layla looked away and licked a wound on her shoulder she got about a week back.

Kpta entered the spacious cave and sighed. It was nice to be out of the falling rain. He grunted and plopped down where he stood, close to the entrance to keep a look out and watched the female. "What happened?" he asked.

Layla shrugged. "Cougar attack." Layla replied, padding out into the rain to look around. She went back into the den, and laid next to him. Layla sighed, missing her best friend Kaitlyn more than anything.

Such a peculiar female.. Kota mentally thought as he watched her off behavior. When she came back in from the rain and laid down next to him, he asked, "Problem?"

Layla sighed heavily, her head turning so her mesmerizing blue eyes met Kota's. "I just. I just miss my best friend Kaitlyn." Layla replied. She felt empty without her best friend.

Kota watched her, "Well, where is she?"

Layla sighed. "I don't know. I haven't seen Kaitlyn since I left the pack." She replied, watching the rain fall.

Kota looked out at the rain and had a flash back. He was a young pup, tumbling and running around with a fuzzy black wolf. The black pup was his best friend, Alex and the day they were forced to run off was a terrible day for both. Would he ever see Alex again? "Don't suppose we could look for her?"

"That's a good idea." Layla replied, smiling softly.

Kota smiled back, "First thing in the morning then." he said and rest his head on his paws.
