It's Not Enough [R] [Open]

Stella

I felt a hand grab my arm and was about to punch the person, thinking it was Jake, when I was turned around and I saw Lucas and Alex standing in front of me. I giggled slightly at Alex's comment then smiled back at Lucas when he smiled at me.

"C'mon, loosen up you two." He pushed Lucas forward, motioning for Stella to follow. He led them out to the parking lot, opening the front door for Stella. "I'll meet you there, alright, Lucas?" He called, smiling as Lucas nodded. "I've gotta get to know you, too, alright? Hop in." Alex laughed, and headed around to the driver's side.

He pulled up behind Lucas's car, shutting the truck off and hopping out. Melody and two others were there; a guy and a girl. "That's Xander and Ellie." Alex pointed to them, still bouncing.

Stella

When we arrived I hopped out of the truck and looked around, seeing a guy and a girl already there. I listened as Alex introduced them, finding out their names were Ellie and Xander. I smiled and waved at them.

The group eagerly welcomed Stella, except for Ellie, who just considered her from her seat on the ground. "Lucas has never brought us an audience before." Xander commented, smirking slightly. Melody snatched Alex's energy drink, sipping it and quickly handing it back to him, giggling.

Stella

I giggled at Xander's comment and replied, "We'll, I hope I'm a good audience." I giggled again when I saw Melody snatch Alex's energy drink and take a drink then give it back to him.

Xander started to get the drums set up, and the rest started to get their own equipment set up. Lucas had his set up very quickly, just a microphone and all it's necessities.

Stella

I looked around for a chair and spotted one towards the side of the room and walked over to it. I pulled it away from the wall a little ways then sat down, waiting for them to get set up and started.

As soon as they were ready to go, Lucas smiled at Stella, and slipped the mic into it's stand.

I listened to the song, tapping my booted foot to the beat. Lucas had a really good voice and I smiled slightly as I continued to watch them play.

Lucas was breathing a bit hard when the song finished, and he smiled at Stella. "One more, Luc?" Xander asked, glancing over at Stella for a moment. Lucas shrugged, and nodded. "Why not?"

Once that was done, the group headed into the house, motioning for Stella to follow. Ellie took her place on Xander's lap, Alex snatched another energy drink, and Melody and Lucas sat at the island. "So how was it?" Alex asked, rocking back and forth on his toes.

Stella

I followed them inside and leaned against the counter and looked at Alex when he asked me a question. "It was really good. I like Lucas's voice. Hey, have you ever done What You Want by Evanescence?" I admitted, looking at Alex.

Alex shook his head. "Nope. We've done plenty of other things, though. A few Black Veiled Bride songs here and there, but Lucas can't get the screams quite right. We've done ETF and PTV, but mostly Bring Me The Horizion." He responded, and made a noise of protest when Lucas stole a sip of his energy drink.

Stella

"Have you ever thought about doing What You Want?" I replied. Then I giggled when Lucas stole a sip of Alex's energy drink then smiled gently at Lucas.

"Not really." Lucas responded, smirking as he heard Ellie's irritated huff, silenced by Xander kissing her. "Usually Ellie does that kind of thing, don't you, Ells?" Xander asked the girl, and she answered him with a muffled "mhmm".

Stella

"Oh. Well... Ummmmm... Not take advantage or anything, but I was wondering if you'd let me sing with you, just once. I've always wanted to sing with a band but I've never gotten the chance." I replied, a little nervous with how they'd react. I didn't meet anyone's eyes and stared at my feet, hoping they didn't think badly of me.

The band members looked around the room, meeting each other eyes in silent agreement. Melody was the first to speak. "Of course! We'd love too!" She smiled brightly, and Lucas chuckled. "Then afterwards we're gonna head out to the park to... mess around a bit." Alex added, grinning evily. "Dammit, Alex, if it's Truth or Dare again!" Ellie scolded, but she was smiling, and trying not to laugh. "We all know he just wants to kiss Lucas again." Lucas raised a brow at Xander's jest, smiling wolfishly. "Don't need a game of Truth Or Dare to do it, Alex." He responded, winking playfully at him. 

"You might have creeped Stella out a bit, you guys." Melody cast a sympathetic glance in Stella's direction, shrugging in a 'what can you do?' motion.

Stella

My eyes brightened at Melody's answer and I replied, "Thank you! I really appreciate it." Then I listened to their conversation and laughed at Melody's apology. "Oh, I'm fine. Can I go with you guys?" I said, smiling. I felt a strange sensation deep in my mind, a sense of...belonging. I had never felt like this before and it felt so good I wanted to jump up and down and laugh in joy.

" 'Course" Xander told her, running a hand through his hair and smiling at the girl. "We'll head there once it gets dark." Melody seemed bubbling over with excitement, and she clapped her hands together like a school girl.

Stella

"Alright. What are we going to do while we wait for it to get dark?" I replied, silently hoping they would say that we could play What You Want. I made sure what I was hoping didn't show in my eyes though. I didn't want them to think badly of me.

Alex eyed Stella slyly, and answered, "What You Want." He laughed at his own joke, sipping his drink. "We're also gonna be waiting for Alex's brother. He always likes to tag along to our little escapades." Ellie added, smirking as Alex groaned. "Andy can't keep his hands off anyone who isnt related to him, you know that, Els!"

Stella

I laughed at Alex's comment then listened to Alex's and Ellie's comments. "Well, he better keep his hands off me." I replied, smiling to show I was joking.

"Who better keep his hands off you?" A new voice asked, and the group looked up, smiling when they saw Andy in the doorway, smirking and leaning on the door frame. "You're just in time to hear Stella perform." Lucas took the topic off course, and stood, placing a hand in the small of Stella's back to get her moving.

My face blanched when Andy appeared in the doorway. Then my attention switched to Lucas at his comment. "What- But- I wasn't really expecting an audience. Uh-" I said, but my complaints went unheard as Lucas pushed me gently towards the garage.

"Don't worry about it." Lucas whispered to her, nudging her past Andy and into the garage. "Ellie and Melody know the song. They'll be providing the music for you." The girls took over, leading Stella to the microphone and heading off to their own things, Melody to the guitar and Ellie to the bass. "Alex, if you would kindly take the drums? Just follow our lead?" Ellie asked, smiling hopefully. "You'll do fine, Stell." Melody reassured her, glancing around at Lucas, Xander, and Andy, who were casually leaning against the wall, awaiting the performance.

Stella

I nodded at Lucas's comment then went up to the microphone. I took a deep breath, trying to concentrate, then looked back at Ellie and Melody, waiting for them to start playing.
