Mal lifted her head, which was a mistake. Her head smacked the dumpster, and a loud bang made her ears ring. She groaned and lowered her head back onto her paws.

Willy gave a snicker as he heard the dog's head hit the dumpster. he leaped up on top of it, and began pawing at the opening.

Mal growled and exited the dumster, her head pounding. "What are you laughing at?" she hissed, her tail bristling.

Willy gave another snicker and did not respond. the top to the dumpster finally flew open and willy carefully lowered his upper body into it, tearing into the trash bags.

Mal grunted. She leaped up into the dumpster beside him, grabbing a shining silver bag in her jaws. It smelled of rotting carcasses, and she jumped down and tore the bag apart. Inside was some kind of human thing. It looked like a rat, except its eyes were glazed over and it was really stiff. "Gross."

Willy snarled at her when she jumped up on the dumpster. He leaped down and stole the rat from the stray. he ran off with it dangling from its mouth.

Her head jerked up in surprise as he raced away. With a snarl, she gave chase.

Willy stopped at the corner, and chowed on the rat. his hunger now satisfied. He lazily trotted to a house and curled up in the tall grass in the shade. he closed his eyes and drifted into a light sleep. he didnt dare fall into a deep sleep, or he would risk his life. it was very tiring being a stray dog.

She lost his scent. Mal let out a growl of anger and stalked back to the dumpster to sleep.

Mal woke up and stretched. Storm clouds were above, threatening rain. She went to go and look for something to eat.

"Do I sound nervous to you?" she hissed at him, letting her tail bristle. Her chin was really stuck to this sticky stuff. She shook her head viciously and tried to remove her chin from the patch preventing her from escaping the male.
