Save a Horse & Ride a Cowboy [M-Open]

I nodded,"I'm May Stevens. And your stud is fine, he is eating with my mare a little ways off." I studied him,"Up north huh? Where you goin'?" I asked. Not many people ventured to come here, and not many people made it out alive. There was snakes, Indians, the normal folk. And then there was the mustang herd. Some of the meanest horses in the states.

I smiled at him,"Oh, I'm sorry. " I looked at him, and his big blue eyes. Why did he have to be so cute? I growled to myself, and lay him back down. I got up, and walked to my saddle laying on the ground. I got my blanket and put it next to him. I laid down, and found myself only a couple inches from him. "No touching... hear?" I asked. I lay a pistol under my pillow like I always did.

I nodded "That's fine." Then I sighed and chuckled "Don't worry, I'm not that type of guy." I sighed and started drifting into sleep, closing my eyes slowly.

I looked at him suspiciously, then nodded,"Okay..." I watched as he drifted to sleep, then I myself began to get drowsy. My eyes slowly closed and I listened one last time to make sure nothing was near. Then I began to sleep. Hardly sleeping at all, I would have woke at any little noise.

I awoke in the morning and forgot about yesterday for a moment so I tried to sit up, causing my wound to flare with pain. I groaned and laid myself back down "Shit..." I groaned.

I woke when he moved, I instinctively grabbed my gun. Then I saw it was just him,"Oh... Be careful." I said quickly. Then I looked to the horizon, and saw it was pretty late. "Do you think you'll be able to ride?"

(I'm back!!!)

I nodded "I should be able to." I say sitting up slowly, pain wracking my chest, but I ignore it.

I smiled and helped him up. I wrapped on of his arms around my shoulders, and let him lean on me. Then I slowly helped him into a stand. "Tell me if it hurts to bad." I said. I helped him over to his horse, who I had kept saddled. And then I thought about how to get him on.

I nodded and walked over to Diablo, who nickered when he saw me. I smiled and slowly reached up and grabbed my saddle horn.

I helped him to the horse, and got ready to help him up. "Will you need help up?"

I shook my head and pulled myself up. I got up, but gasped for a minute before I turned Diablo around to face her horse.

I watched him get up, and quickly followed suit. I looked at him,"Well... This is good bye. I guess." I said sadly. I looked at him and saluted, a thin we do around here.

I nodded sadly and made Diablo walk beside May's horse. I leaned over and kissed her cheek, something they do up north. "Thank you for saving me ma'am."

I slapped his hand quickly, before realizing he had meant nothing of it. "Umm, sorry. " I said then I looked back over at him,"Do you even know where your going?"

I was confused at first but shrugged it off. I sighed "No idea, just going to travel west."

"well, If you go straight west, your gonna die. Better just stick with me." I said as I rode my mare closer to his stallion. I looked to him,"Ready?"

I shrugged then said "Sure, where we going?" I asked, turning Diablo around to face the direction of her mare.
