Kelly
I ran down the hall to my room before slamming it shut and sobbing when I had over heard my ma and pa talking about me marrying one of their friends sons. I dropped down onto my bed and cried, my tears soaking into my blankets. I pounded my small fists into the bed as I was angry and upset. My parents friends sons had been so mean to me when I was just a child and I have always held a grudge against all their sons. I would not pretend to be happy, I would dig my heels in and made this experience very bad for my parents and their friends and one of their sons that intended to marry me. I wiped my tears from my face and pushed back my auburn hair.

Sam
I held open a door for some women since it was ladies first. I was very displeased to hear that my mother and father was forcing me to marry a woman I've never met or heard of just because it would benefit them. This women could be uglier than sin and I wouldn't even know it until I met her. I put on a fake smile as I met up with my friends and sat down on a stool and took a drink of ale that I had ordered. I ran my fingers on my right hand through my black wavy hair and felt the scars on my face that I had gotten when I had been in the Army.

~Sayuri~
I held a sour look on my face after getting the news, a bit on the rebellious side I left and headed to Kelly's house knocking on the door one of the maids let me in and I headed up to Kelly hearing her crying and walked in "Can you believe them those mad old crones want to marry me off to some strange who could be some horrible man" I frowned and looked to her with ice blue eyes that pierced through to anyone's heart it seems framed by brown hair that was almost black against my fair complexion. "You've been crying don't tell me you're parents are doing the same thing?"

~Aaron~
I listened to my parents trying to argue with them, I had someone else in mind already at this point and frowned. "Why should I marry her, from what I've heard…" "You will do well to refrain from such words you will have to marry this women and live with her, we've arranged a place for you tow to live already between our families so you get to know each other" frowned my father before showing me a small portrait that had been done of her, she was rather good looking but for all I knew she could have a rotten personality. I sighed "Fine" unable to argue anymore since a meeting had already been set up and then headed to ht bear meeting up with Sam, an old friend and looked at him "You too?" I asked him noticing the sour look on his face. "Can't believe my parents are forcing me to marry some strange women, for all I know she could be rotten and I don't want to commit yet" I frowned. But if I had to I would, I wouldn't go playing around behind her back, if we at least got along that would be good and then maybe eventually if possible we'd end up in love.

Kelly
"But they have Sayuri!" I wailed. I didn't care if I was acting like a child! I didn't want to marry someone that I didn't love, I was in love with someone else. I sat up and wiped the tears with my sleeve. "I don't know what I've done to make them do this, Sayuri I don't want to be married by Aaron." I said as I had over heard my parents say his name. He had been the worst of the three brothers and he had teased me the worst. For all I knew he could still be like this. I plucked at my dress that matched my green blue eyes. "If I marry him I can't be with the man that I actually love and what if he makes me have his baby?" I said as my heart pumped faster as I felt the fear.

Sam
"You have no idea. I hope this girl isn't hard headed or anything like that. But at least you know who your marrying. I remember Kelly, you teased her really badly you know." I said giving his shoulder a little shove with mine as I set a cup of ale in front of him because right now we both deserved to have some drink as we were the ones getting married. "Do you think Kelly's changed?" I asked him as my turned my deep icy blue eyes on him.

~Sayuri~
I moved and hugged my friend "Oh kelly, it'l be ok, we'll find out where we both are going to live and we'll meet up at each others house if we can or go out to the shops to get away from them both" I said and looked to her "I'm pretty sure he won't be that bad, he has improved apparently and he's not going to force you, he's been brought up a gentleman at least and you were little kids boys always tease girls he's most likely changed you never know" trying to give her some hope at least and hugged my friend tightly. "I don't think there is anything we can do Kelly so… unfortunately we'll have to grin and bear it I'm afraid" I sighed.

~Aaron~
I sighed "Probably and she most likely hates me for the teasing too" I said "and don't say that you'll have a clean slate with yours, although I saw one girl go into Kelly's house on the way here, she looked far from happy, rather pretty too, old friend of Kelly's let's see been a while Sayuri, she looked very unhappy hopefully you won't get her, she's known to be disobedient from her father" I laughed "and hopefully I can make her at least get along with me" I sighed. "Know why you're being married off Sam, mine is because they want me to have a good wife and apparently Kelly fits the bill"

Kelly
I hugged my friend back. "Well I'm not going to go willingly, they'll have to drag me." I said standing up and put my hands on my hips as my anger came back. "I won't just stand there and pretend to be happy when I am not happy." I said walking out of my room and heading for town, I had some things to pick up. I picked up the things I needed and walked into the pub that I had heard people say that Aaron occupied. I found him and gave him a little shove, "I won't marry you and that's that." I said as I turned to go.

Sam
I looked at him, "At least your family wants you to be happy." I said looking into my cup with a sour face as my shoulders slumped. Mine didn't care if I was happy or not, they just wanted the social standing. I remembered seeing Sayuri from time to time. I looked over my shoulder and saw Kelly shove Aaron and laughed, "Looks like you have a spite fire of a woman Aaron." I said smiling as I took another drink

~Sayuri~
I sighed and followed behind her finding her in the bar and escorted her out speaking "Look, if we do one thing wrong they can strip us of everything we have no days if we at least live with amiably then we can survive and asked for them to divorce us" I said to her "Anyway at least you know who he is think of it that way" I said to her "Now then let us get back to my home, I want you there for support I'm supposed to meet my partner once before the wedding since he's a stranger" I said quietly to her "and I want your opinion on him as well as my friend, actually it's at yours we're meeting them aren't we?"

~Aaron~
I looked to her and sighed "Great" I muttered "and I don't have much say in this either" I frowned at her when she pushed me a little surprised before hearing the door open and Sayuri walked in calmly as always. I looked to Sam "Don't remind me, if I can at least live with her without fighting that'll be enough of a first step" I said bluntly to him. "Might be one for you to take to since she's a complete stranger to you as well" I said and sipped my drink again. "Now then I have my own meeting to attend, we're supposed to meet once before at least" I said to him sighing.

Kelly
I gave my cheek a gentle bite, "Well you've already met him." I said pointing at Aarons friend. I linked our arms together and headed for my carriage. "Would you like to ride in my coach or yours?" I asked as I didn't mind either way. I would support my friend. I knew the man that I loved would still want me if something like that happened to me and I knew that for a fact. I looked around us, "Do you want to get a piece of candy?" I asked her as I felt my sweet tooth wanting somethings sweet.

Sam
I chuckled. "I thought you'd do something more than must do that. Your a sour puss." I said paying for my drink and backing off of the stool and put my hands in my pockets to keep my hands warm as it was getting chilly out since it was heading for fall and it was getting nippy. I gave my long time friend a pat on the back, "It'll all work out. When's the date that your to marry her?" i asked curious

~Sayuri~
I looked to her "How do you know?" I asked her "We'll take yours" getting the carriage with her before we got there and smiled and once at hers I smiled "Yes something sweet would be nice" I said "some tea as well shall I prepare some, I gave you those lovely tea leaves from abroad that my father brought back from business abroad" I smiled and prepared some o the tea for us hearing the door going and frowned. "Think their hear" I sighed "Prepare two more cups and sweets" I frowned "Means less for us"

~Aaron~
"Very funny Sam" I frowned at him before paying for my drink "Well let's get going shall we?" I said bluntly "from what I heard those two talking about we're both heading to Kelly's house and we don't want to be late and make them even more angry do we?" I said "we're deciding the date today but it could be as son as tomorrow the parents are organising everything" I sighed and ruffled my hair frowning before calling a carriage and offering him to join me.

Kelly
"I hope they're not here. I wish Aaron would just leave. I love someone else." I said as a few tears went down my face. I sat down as I did as I was told before wiping the tears off of my face. I ran my sweaty hands down my dress and headed for where I heard the noises. I composed myself and took a deep calming breath before putting the tray down on the table and looked around. "You coming Sayuri?" I asked over my shoulder.

Sam
I shook my head, "I'll ride my horse." I said getting on my Friesian stallion and headed down the road at a steady trot but once going into the woods were it was dirt and got him into a gallop. When I got there ahead of my friend, I tied my horse and headed into the house and saw Kelly and soon I saw Sayuri. "Ladies." I said dipping my hat

~Sayuri~
I sat quietly listening to our parents talking about dates and once they had been set as soon as Kelly and Aaron returned from outside I rose to my feet after finishing my tea and looking Sam over once and headed over to the kitchen to be on my own. My father looked rather annoyed "Sayuri get back here!" he shouted and I frowned moving to the doorway "and why should I dates are set, you get rid of me on that day and that family get the status they so want" I said having seen right through his parents. I was in a foul mood and even Aaron looked to his friend with a 'what have you done' look.

~Aaron~
I arrived there not long after and came in afterwards acting polite and sat down on one of the couches that had been placed opposite each other while our parents also appeared and began chattering about dates. I looked to Kelly "Kelly can you listen to me pleas,e I don't have a choice in this either" I said to her and asked if I could speak to her outside to explain my situation as well. "Ok, please listen, like you I don't have much of a choice, I know I'm the last person you'd marry if at all, but hear me out I have someone else I love already if we can just live together for the minimum amount of time I can give you what you want" knowing that she'd want rid of me and to be single again. "I won't force myself on you either I promise" I said to her knowing our parents were glad we were even talking so wouldn't eavesdrop on us.

Kelly
I listened to him and nodded. I turned away from him and walked to my room and sat down in front of the window and wiped at the tears on my face. I had heard from the man I loved tell me in a letter that he didn't want me any longer. I folded my hands in my lap and tears went down my face in full force. If Aaron left me like he wanted I would be alone but I think I'd be okay but I didn't know and I was lonely now.

Sam
I heard her and flinched, literally you could see me flinch from where I stood. I grabbed my hat and left. I got onto my horse and took off at a dead run, my family wanted the status not me. No man would want to marry Suyuri and she and her family knew it. So if she liked it or not she didn't have much of a choice but I wasn't going to just stand there and let her speak to me that way.

~Sayuri~
I got yelled at quite a lot and frowned, I headed outside like normal and walked home instead rather annoyed at his parents more than him. However, my parents had gotten there beforehand and due to my behaviour had said I wasn't allowed in so walking back I frowned "Now what" I sat on a bench. "Stupid, his parents just want status he's probably no bette rig he's been brought up by them" I muttered to myself.

~Aaron~
I noticed she never came down so asking to be excused again I frowned finding her room and knocking on the door "Umm, Kelly are you ok?" I asked her softly waiting for her answer. "I didn't upset you did I, sorry and I know I teased you really badly back in the past forgive me for that" I said softly and waited for a reply before hearing the door downstairs go and looked outside. "Wow, feisty one, I feel sorry for Sam" I muttered and looked to her door "Can I come in?" I asked gently.

Kelly
I quickly wiped my face off, I cleared my throat, "You can come in." I said as I got up and waited for him to come in. I just hoped he would just think that I was upset because of marrying him and not because of something else. "What do you need me for?" I asked not knowing what he wanted since the dates were set. I smoothed my dress in the front and put my braid behind me but soon started to play with my hair since I was nervous.

Sam
I heard her, "You shouldn't define someone by their family. I could care less about your damn status, I was happy on my own. I'm disgusted by your status because people like you think your so much better than people that have to work for their money and to support themselves or their family. I hope you have fun finding someone to marry you because I refuse to marry someone that's so disrespectful and cruel to someone. You'll most likely be alone for the rest of your life." I said soon leaving for good now. I turned my face away so she couldn't see it. I head off at a walk. I put a hand on my thigh as I looked around to make sure nothing spooked my horse.

~Sayuri~
I stopped him "Same goes for you, I'm locked out my house and I said your parents were like that not you if you'd listened and I'm entitled to my opinion every other guy my parents have set up for me is exactly the same" I frowned, this wasn't the first time, "Not one shred of respect, I don't care who I marry I just don't want someone who's family are using them to get status" I said "Plus my parents wanted a son not me so they don't are who I'm married off to or if the person kills me and trust me they've told me so of course I'll be like this, plus aren't you defining me by my family now, Like I said they just want rid of me" I shouted angrily. I hated the situation more than he or anyone knew, I'd had to stay strong for my friend as well and now probably had nowhere to go either so got to work trying to think of where i could stay after i'd walked off and calmed down a bit.

~Aaron~
"Are you ok and the dates are for in a week also one more thing, I think your friend might've just chased her partner off, can you speak to her. I'll talk to him but your friend will be more affected since she's a women" I sighed. "She's quite the feisty one isn't she and I saw her sitting outside on a bench your parents aren't letting her in either so she's been kicked out of her home for her behaviour I'm guessing" I muttered. "Any advice I can give my friend about her, I'm sure she's nice just like your quite a feisty one when angry" I said referring to her shoving me in the pub.

Kelly
I didn't answer him but just nodded. I didn't look at him as I didn't want him to see into my eyes at the real pain that was there. I opened my door, "I'll talk to her." I said nodding as I waited silently for him to leave so I could be alone for a little while longer before going home and to my own bed then I'd cry myself to sleep. I clutched a letter in my left hand. I put the letter into my pocket. "Will you leave?" I asked wanting him to leave or at least I thought I did. "I hope you can be happy with that woman you love, you can visit her even when we're married, I don't mind." I said soon just giving up and leaving the room and ran down the stairs and headed for the front door and leaving and walking into my carriage that would take me home

Sam
I stopped and sighed. I turned around and picked her up and put her on my horse in front of me. "Walk on." I said to my horse and headed home. I was thinking of taking another tour in the army. I kept my left side of my face away from her. I didn't like when people looked at it, I didn't mind it that my friend did because he wouldn't judge me. "You can stay with me." I said careful not to touch her so I didn't get yelled at. But I couldn't control the erection she gave me pressing against her butt.

~Sayuri~
A little surprised when I was picked up I looked back to him "Look I am sorry, but you do get fed up of such things over time, my friend is rather upset too about the whole thing" I sighed having finally calmed down a little now. "But it's true what I said many families will marry their son or daughter off for status I've had several offers several meetings with potential men all of them the same, horrible, cruel and nothing but puppets for there parents" I said "Certainly not kind I can tell you that which you do seem to be and at least your polite" I muttered quietly not really noticing his erection.

~Aaron~
I smiled "Thank you" I said and then listened to her "Would you like me to give you a lift home, it's not safe for a women when it gets dark" I said to her softly before she left noticing she was upset "it's fine, I will remain loyal to my wife whoever she may be" I said to her and took her hand gently leading her to my carriage to take her home. "What's really wrong Kelly, you can tell me you know but you do look upset" I said softly to her and listened to whatever she said to me "You do't have to tell me either you can just cry your eyes out if you want, it's a good thing to do sometimes" being gentle with her since she really did look so hurt and upset still.

Kelly
"It doesn't matter." I said looking out the window and dropped my hand from his. I looked at the scenery as we went to my home. He had someone he loved and I didn't. I'd be lonely I thought to myself. I soon looked at my hands and blinked rapidly so I'd stop crying, it was useless to cry over something now. I watched as we got to my home. I got out and walked towards the porch quickly since it was starting to rain.

Sam
"Well I don't care about status, all I care about is being happy and to put down roots so to speak. I don't care about having a whole bunch of money. I like working with my hands and to create a family and to be happy and maybe have grandkids. I soon stopped once we got to my house. "Well it's nothing your used to but it works." I said getting off and then taking her off of the horse before untacking the horse and letting him in his pasture before leading her into my house.

~Sayuri~
I listened carefully and nodded a little, maybe he really wasn't all that bad. I thanked him as he helped me off the horse and looked around the small house, it was quite cozy and was better than being on the streets during the night, wasn't exactly safe so this was far better. "It's quite nice in here actually" I said to him I found somewhere to sit down not exactly used to riding with someone behind him and it was quite late as well. "Can I ask something, what happened for you to get those scars, just curious I noticed them before"

~Aaron~
I moved and helped her out "Sleep well then and try to cheer up, I don't know what's wrong but you can't let such things drag you down, after all no women should be crying in their lifetime" I said softly "and I'm sorry if it's because of me" I said before getting back into the carriage and making sure she got inside as well before heading home. I now had to work on speaking to Sam tomorrow let them both calm down a bit beforehand so they weren't at each others throat like it seemed to be tonight.

Kelly
Before I let go of his hand I leaned up and kissed him lightly and took my hands off of his chest and then headed to the door and headed for mine so I could change out of my wet clothes before dinner. I took my hair out of it's braid and combed it before heading into the parlor and soon into the dinning room where supper was served. I sat down and soon began to eat

Sam
I turned my face away from her view. I didn't like when people looked at them. "The army." I said lying but hopefully she wouldn't know that. I took off my shirt and more littered my back, up over my shoulders, down my arms, over to my chest and stomach. One long one went down from my hip to my thigh. I found another shirt. My muscles rippled under my skin of my back as I pulled it on. I ran my fingers through my hair before going into the kitchen, "What would you like to drink?" I asked as I could make tea, coffee, or milk.

~Sayuri~
I watched him closely and shook my head not prying anymore but knew he was hiding something. "Some milk will be fine thanks" I said to him moving the coat I had off and finding somewhere to hang it up out of the way before sitting down again and taking the drink off of him as it was offered before sipping at it thinking to myself "So you were in the army, moved back here recently?" I asked "If so that explains why I don't recognise you especially if you hang around with Aaron" who unlike Sam hand't gone to the army.

~Aaron~
I smiled a little as she kissed me and went home rather happy before checking through a letter that had come and frowned "Ah great, just great she's getting married" I frowned and ruffled my hair before heading upstairs and changing before joining my family for dinner. I then headed back upstairs in order to get some sleep waiting for the next day.

Kelly
The kiss I gave him didn't mean anything other than a thank you as he loved someone else. I'd just have to get used to that. My father had changed the date of the marriage to the day after today. I sighed and looked out the window, it was a new day but a painful one at that. I walked down the stairs to get some breakfast and headed for the barn. I had the stable hand saddle up my horse before I walked my black mare.

Sam
"Yeah for a couple years before I was discharged because of some bad event." I said sitting at the table as I sipped some coffee that was very warm. I offered a biscuit. "I'll make supper soon." I said as I turned my head away from her as I fingered the scar on my hand before getting up from my seat, "What would you like to eat?" i asked curious. I was a decent cook but I wasn't a chief or anything but I got by. I looked at her, since she was marrying me I might as well tell her. "I was held captive for several years before the army got me out, I was tortured every day, they tried to get me to say where the army would be but I wouldn't say anything." I said not meeting her eyes.

~Sayuri~
I listened to him as usual attentively and nodded moving to help him after we decided to have some simple soup for dinner. "I see so that's what really happened it's nothing to be ashamed of, scars that is so can you look me in the eye, I'm not going to judge you on such a thing but maybe you really aren't what I thought you were" I smiled a little "In my opinion you seem to be rather brave and loyal from that story you've told me" I said calmly. After we had our dinner I soon fell asleep in the chair exhausted after such a hectic and tiring day.

~Aaron~
The next morning I went round to Sam's and knocked on the door pretty sure that he'd be in although didn't expect Sayuri to answer the door and looked to him "Ok one are you ok, two why is she here and three we need to talk" I said to him bluntly. I was rather shocked to see her here that was for sure and as soon as I got speaking to him I asked a few questions "Ok again why is she here, you do know you'll get in trouble, two seems as though my marriage has been moved to tomorrow so I don't know about yours might want to check that our and three did anything happen between you two" I said nudging him cheekily.

Kelly
I made my way to Sam's house because he was training my mare. I got off and tied her to a post and walked into the house and saw Aaron. I knew Sam slept naked because I had accidentally found that out. "Aaron can we talk?" I asked hoping he would because I wanted to get this off of my chest before we got married tomorrow. I walked into another room to wait for Aaron

Sam
I gently picked her up and brought her to one of two bed I had and stripped her down so she wasn't wearing her dress. I leaned down and kissed her forehead and smiled. "I am very loyal." I whispered to her before tucking her into the bed and heading for my bedroom. I took off my clothes, I preferred to sleep naked. I laid on my stomach and fell asleep. I slept on and off through out the night before finally sleeping into deep sleep. I pushed him away, "Quite nudging me, I'm trying to sleep. If something really happened between us do you really think I'd be sleeping alone?" I asked even though I'd have liked to make love to my soon to be wife.

~Sayuri~
I looked to Kelly "Morning Kelly" I said "Why you here so early in the morning?" I asked "and Aaron's upstairs talking to Sam…you really don't want to go in there" I said having walking earlier and discovered exactly what she had. Aaron soon came down after getting answers. I was making some breakfast having found a few things so it was only a simple one since I wasn't sued to this kitchen and struggled to find a few things.

~Aaron~
"But you two were fighting yesterday, she has a sharp tongue that's for sir sand if every things alright then I won't need to speak to you then" I said to him "But at least she's up and dressed before you as well, told me she woke up without her dress on after falling asleep downstairs" he chuckled "and what changed your mind you really seemed less than happy yesterday" I said wondering what had happened. When I got answers and headed downstairs I looked to Kelly "Ah yeah, I need to talk to you about a few things to" I said to her and took her to one side "You can go first this time around" I said softly.

Kelly
I looked at my feet and nodded. "Well the reason i was upset was because the guy I really liked didn't want me anymore since I'm marrying you. I also wanted to tell you that I love you..always have even when you were very mean to me." I said giving a watery laugh as I wiped at my face. I didn't even know why I was crying. I looked up at him. "I know you aren't happy about marrying me and I understand but I wanted you to know how I felt." I said letting him talk now

Sam
I came down stairs and gave Sayuri a kiss on the cheek and gave her hip a small bump. "I got it." I said making some eggs, biscuits, and milk. I let her sit down and I soon sat down to let things cook. "Well what are we going to do today?" I asked her as I gave her a kiss on the forehead before moving the food around so it didn't burn. Some things were done so I took them off the flame and made four plates.
